  • as much of a die-hard GM guy as you seem to be, maybe you'd know of a more permanent fix for an overheating LT1 due to head gaskets than just replacing them over and over again? (no cracks in block, multi-layered Steel Gaskets)

  • @XcapeArtist357 Are the heads nice and straight? Not warped or pitted? That could cause a bad head gasket. Otherwise the pump could be dry. I had to take the thermostat housing off plenty of times to put coolant into the engine right there b/c it kept going dry and basically it stopped pumping coolant. LT1's suffer from air pockets in the water passages. I also tried forcing coolant through the system one time and that seemed to help. A flush system hooked to a hose worked for me

  • @v10viper04 Honestly if the block is fine and the heads are fine then maybe its combustion problem blowing the head gaskets out. Usually head gaskets go bad b/c the head is warped. This LT1 it getting the heads looked at this winter b/c the head gasket blew at the end of the summer. I'm sure my heads are warped as the machine shop I had balance my bottom end said the block was fine.

  • @v10viper04 The heads on the Vette cost me $50. I'm sure there was a reason for them being so cheap, haha.

  • Looks/ sounds good man. Nice to see it finally running and moving, lol.
