STATS are important, but highly overrated, because the stat sheet doesn't show the players impact on the court, the intangibles a player did on a given night, the co-assists, movement without the ball, footwork, defensive pressure, the hustle, yeah every bucket is 2 points, but how did he get the bucket?? was it a layup?? or a tough contested fadeaway jumper?? THESE THINGS don't show up on the STATS SHEET, KOBE is one of the greatest of all time.

that is my point. Shaq was the CORE of the triangul offense. Teams often go decades without a core in their team, always looking for one (dominant player). Finding the core, the rest of the members can be found easily (shooters, drivers, etc.. there all over the nba) and kobe is just one of those OTHER players that just happen to found Shaq.He will never be as dominant as Jordan, Olajuwon or Shaq.Even Lebron needs more double team than Bryant. And after watchin today's laker game, i saw evidence of it again..i don't know if its the fans that somehow manipulate the refs into calling fouls or not calling them..but it seemed like the lakers should have gotten more calls in their favor..but like i said..officiating is a part of the game and its never an excuse, The lakers just couldn't adjust to the calls...and so utah won..hopefully they can bounce back at home and take control of the series...

Kobe made my argument for Lebron not seem so stupid. He said that the MVP is a team award, if it wasnt, and it went by statistics and who played the best individually ,I wouldve won it when I had stretches when I averaged 40 in previous seasons.
I think Kobe shouldve have won it 2 times at least by now, but they only take team factors into consideration, like Garnett getting way more votes than Lebron with a 12 point less average just cause he has a good team. I like MLB does it. Look at bonds
