Had my procedure in March 2009, felt amazing for about the first year, now I am tired all the time, legs swelling and feel like I did before. It is not the valve, it is working perfectly. Not sure where to go from here!
If you have a mechanical heart valve and the noise keeps you awake at night - but you DON'T want to use drugs or narcotics to sleep - you can purchase a non-addictive inexpensive, psychoacoustic audio recording titled "Heartbeat River" at cdbaby.com
Should probably undergo an operation. Has an enlarged hjärtklaffel, which probably needs to be replaced in framtiden.har bit enlarged heart. then becomes one one mechanical heart valve. Do not.
is only 27 years. and guess that's enough before I fyller30 years. maybe surgery in 2012 or 2013 if that will happen.
my father has severe narrowing of his aorta and was breathless. He now feels better he has been informed he will have surgery to replace his aorta, either pig valve, metal or a baloon(which only lasts 6 months) It is going to be an NHS op as he has been told its a better option than private? Should he get a second opinion if it is categorised as "severely narrowed" ? He is 75 and went fishing yesterday and is up at 6 a.m to work. If his artery was severly collapsed why can he still function?
had the surgery in reb and the hardest part about this surgery is the cardiac rehab sucked but the surgery isnt that bad a lil pain but u have to listen to what the drs say dont go and try to be superman and do stuff ur not supposed to to "lifting''.any one going to go thru this my thoughs and prayers are with u and rember god loves you
@mcdougat How do you feel now? My brother just had this procedure done two weeks ago and is doing fine. He is having an issue with feeling tired all the time and actually falling asleep then waking up throughout the entire day. Even during the night. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Absolutely amazing. I'd never think that such a procedure could be completed through a 5cm incision. Thank you very much for posting this. A colleague of mine recently had a conventional aortic valve replacement - given the choice, I'm sure he would have opted for the minimially invasive technique here.
The procedure you watched was performed in Jordan. We've been doing this since the early 90s. The procedure is performed all over the world now. One od the pioneers in the USA is Dr. Delos Gosgrove at the Cleveland Clinic Ohio. Nowadays a new procedure is performed through the groin or the apex of the heart for very old high risk patients but this is still limited to few centers in Europe and the US. Hope this helps you.
my valve is not the issue according to my cardiologist?

I don't get what the hell they're trying to accomplish here. It looks like they're damaging the heart more than anything! Wtf?

AnimeQueenie888 - Obviously you are quite ignorant and your time would be better spent with simple cartoons or having keys jingled in front of you.
