@saltyseascott Maybe equaled by Nat King Cole in the sense that they (Nat King cole and Karen Carpenter) are recognized immediately by their unique voices, as soon as they sing their first notes. Natalie? No. She is not nearly as talented as her Dad, and she's no Karen Carpenter either. Karen blows her away in every aspect.
My best New Years were those when Karen was still singing to us in Las Vegas and California. Her sweet voice was the voice of our time. She gave our years the romantic emotion that made it special just to be young then. Will always love her.
Karen loved Henry Mancini and his music just as we all do and she used it a lot in her music which goes to show Mancini exposed it all to everyone and if not through his music through yours.
Ahh yes, this would be the best version, Ned Nickerson gives people such a good product his videos are second to none.... Bet alot of people don't know who ned is.
The Carpenters covered many Christmas favorites and truly made it their own, adding their special sound and touches. Karen's voice made it special, and Richard's arrangements made them high quality productions. I love this song, along with "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", "I'll Be Home For Christmas", and "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day". And of course the Carpenters' own creation and enduring Christmas classic "Merry Christmas Darling". Thanks for posting NedNickerson!
This is one of my all time favorites. No one sings it like Karen. What an incredible voice she had. It's so sad thinking what could have been - all the great songs she could have sung. sigh...
This takes me back to the holiday season of 2008 when I first heard this song on the radio. The second time I heard it, I was looking through the Arts & Leisure section of the New York Times.
I agree but Karen can be equaled by Nat King Cole & Natalie, yes? Look for them both singing
When I fall in love

obviously for a different song - this is terrible! Her voice is stellar, as usual, but this video clip is awful!

Maybe that's because she loved Christmas and Christmas music so much.

I'm astonished that she sounded so GOOD even when she looked like she could hardly stand.

This video is for Merry Christmas Darling. Nevertheless, both fantastic holiday songs.
