@Guilhaz1 Look, I'm pointing out that the bulk of their crews have little to no sailing experience and they are taking them to some of the most dangerous waters in the world where the nearest rescue station is days away. Then they take boats never designed for arctic weather through pack ice and charge into the path of other boats as well as try to disable other vessels in the region with prop fowlers. So yes, I'm amazed they haven't gotten anyone killed yet.

Why would you want to join them after watching this? The entire crew in that smaller boat almost just died, then some noob smacked the helicopter's rotor blade. During the helicopter test flight, several crew were standing on the ship just looking at the helicopter, waiting for the blade to explode and slice through their bodies... is it unclear that these people have no idea what the hell they are doing?

squalea, if you did pay attention you would see that the crew in the small boat called Delta was saved with a rocket line, they were inspected and no physical harms were found. And about the guy that messed up the rotor blade, it happened accidently cause of the delta incident.

The flight center told them to test the rotor blade and they follow that advice cause it's given by proffesionals. If anyone wants to join the Sea Shepherds, you should respect them, cause it's unpayed and dangerous work

Yes, they sometimes damage some equipment, because 80% of the crew is made by VOLUNTEERS which unlike you bust their asses up to save 500 whales each year. If they are so dedicated how about spending some time training people? I think a Walmart employee probably gets more training. They might not be incompetent people in general (although I'd need some convincing of that from what I have seen) they are certainly incompetent at running a ship and carrying out their goals. They also aren't saving "someone" either since whales aren't people. How about you volunteer your ass and then you can report back how great it is? Hypocritical ass.

Their passion nor drive isn't at question here imo.. A Captain and his officers do have some serious responsabilities regarding the crews safety.. They should reckognise their own incompetence and get a decent formation or put decently trained officers in charge in their stead. With David, who is a professional RIB pilot they have such experience, only they didn't listen to him did they. I do agree that what they try is nobel and courageous, but the lack of leadership can waste it all.

Yes exactly. And to clarify it's the semi permanent crew in leadership I'm most pissed at. I don't expect the volunteers to know anything. But the leaders should know better and should do all they can to train the new people or at least, in the captains case, act like they care. In the case of the 1st mate he is both uncaring, incompetent, and just a horrible person in general.

The Captain mistakingly blames the bosun David Jennings for 'lowering the boat with too much crew on it' Although being right about that mistake, he should look at part 4 at 3:06 where his 1st mate Peter Brown is calling for the crew to get in before the boat is dropped! Also part 4 clearly shows how the same 1st mate totally overslacks the rope wich is the real and only cause of the accident. Way to go for a 1st officer and Captain. They are both incompetent and a danger to any crew.

Yeah seriously the captain couldn't be more wrong and disinterested. The people boarding the boat early just meant there was more people in the water when it went under it has nothing to do with why it capsized and his idiot extraordinaire 1st mate is the one who ordered it just like you said. I have watched 4 episodes now and I have yet to see the captain really lead or make a decision, even a small one, that has made any sense or been the best thing to do.
