Just because you have a switchblade doesn't automatically obligate you to go get in a knife fight? just like owning a gun doesn't mean you need to go have a dual with someone. It's design is actually a perfect fit for what it was meant for--a fast opening self defense weapon. Also, meant for jabbing or "puncture" wounds. Which ultimately, are going to affect your enemy a lot more than a slice would resulting in it not needing a fine edge. I've carried one for 6 years and have never felt safer.

That knife you have there is the Chinese knockoff. The True Italians don't have nail nicks in the blades and they use materials like Horn , Stag and Micarta for the scales.
