The show would be gone if they stayed in NY....so it is doing the best it can with a smaller budget. I rather see some other people keep their job (actors) and new people in LA get jobs, than nobody at all.
adragonfly75 your soooo right, because word on the street back in 08/09 AMC and OLTL were both at the point of cancellation so in order to save this show it was feasable to send to LA, because Disney has it owns studios there and could build sets on their lots.....Yes it a blow to people who are not moving out west. Hopefully ABC/Disney found these people jobs in the company. With GLight off the air and ATWT leavin in sept... I hope OLTL is not ax!
"It all worked out"........my ass. Lots of people are out of work because of this move. I`m never watching the show again. And maybe ABC should move to California, period. They won`t make it. Eventually the trickle down effect on New Yorks economy and job loss is gonna bite ABC in the ass.
@ScottNYC09 But it's either move or NO SHOW, so either way.... Other soaps are gone (Guiding Light, now As the World Turns) and so to save this show they have to move to save $. Sucks for the out of work people, but if there's no show there'd be no jobs anyway.
