The "old man in the Mach 5" is in fact Speed Racer himself. This is when Speed has gotten older, has two kids, and has started going grey. This whole idea is either sheer stupidity or sheer brilliance, and I'm not sure yet which it is.

I've seen some pics of this "sequel", it looks like someone took a toon of a futuristic racing series and slapped Speed Racer stuff in it, aswell as a newer Pontiac grill on the Mach 5, this new series looks just as bad as the one that was made in the early 90's when Speed had a Mach 5 that was made out of some street racing car.
