This is the SAME John Entwistle who also sings super falsetto on The Who's A Quick One (While He's Away) - Check out the R&R Circus version to see what I mean, and compare with this song. Amazing singing range.
I don't know why on every Ringo video someone always questions Ringo's drumming ability because he tours with another drummer, in this case his son Zak, but anyone who has seen any of the All star tour shows know that Ringo comes out in front of the band on most of the songs he sings and then goes back to his drums to play when the others in the band are singing.
Really cool to see Zak and Ringo playing together. Oddly enough I`ve read that Keith Moon taught young Zak more on drums than his dad did because Ringo wasn`t that keen on Zak becoming a musician. Zak does a great job with the Who. This is a really odd group that Ringo has on stage here, really odd combination.
Wow John is gone along with Billy Preston too. It's so sad to think of all the great rockers who are no longer with us. Moon, Lennon, George Harrison, Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane. And other greats who weren't as famous like Greg Ridley, Bob Mayo, John Siomos, and so many others. They gave us great music to listen to. Thanks fellows for the soundtrack to our lives.
Don`t be a putz-Drummers often double up on stage for a better live sound. Ringo is one of the great ones that can play with Keltner or his son here and it sounds like one beat. A lot of cool stuff here, father and son, the Who connection (as Zak drums for them now) and a nice clip of two late stars Entwistle and Billy Preston. Thanks for sharing. Ringo was not a showman drummer but gave a steady and true backbeat to the greatest rock music of all time without any debate...nuff said.
Whoaaa Billy Preaton, Mark Farner, Randy Bachman, who else back there? He was'nt kiddn! Then along with Zac and John too ? Ringo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All ALL stars
re: Ringo's ability. Ringo always played what worked best for the song, and that's the point. And although he was an untrained, basic 4/4 rock n roll drummer (as opposed to jazz-trained like Charlie) Ringo managed to augment the work of 2 of the greatest writers in history, complementing the band perfectly. Day Tripper, Ticket to Ride, Yer Blues, Come Together, all of Revolver and Pepper...list goes on. Ringo is one of the greats. Some of you need to learn this.
I know right....it is like saying You don't like laughing babies, lol....i don't know. Although I didn't really appreciate him fully until I saw him live.

great tune from the 95 all stars, Mark Farner (Grand Funk)setting the groove for the beat, lending his titan tenor to the back up vocals, great stuff!!
Yeah, I didn't get it either. It sounded like "Boris the cool dude or Boris the keeper.I went to this concert at Radio City with my brother, and he did the same thing. People next to me went "Boris the Wha....?"
I think this tour is about 1993 ~ 94 ... I have just watched this performance as audience in Japan. They are the best live performers which I have ever watched. He have played 'Boris the ...' & 'My Wife'.

Ringo can handle the drums alone, he just chose to let his son do it with him - their a team and make double the impact withdouble the skill!
