First off, that ride looked sweet! Looks like your shoulder is doing well. Secondly, as a one man camera crew you did a fantastic job filming this. Editing was great too.
as a downhiller i don't particularly like more cross country but this??? this is something else all together.... If i could i would buy a good all mountain bike right now and never look back.. You inspire me and props to you for going out and doing this... you even cut trees out of the way for the next line of riders that will come through... just thinking about the solitude and mountains and green meadow while being on a bike and fishing with the bears??? -priceless-
When i saw you chopping that tree, i knew i would look in the comments and see someone complaining about damaging the environment! But yeh, i wish i had the oppertunity to do something like this and it would be even better in a small group (2 or 3). Your bag must have been filled with mainly camera batteries and tools(such as pumps, spare tubes, allen keys and knifes) it must have weighed a tonne!
i dont know, i liked your video very much, though i dont like it when you cut off the tree, the tree lives there, you are just visiting, we should take care of out planet man...
@victorjngv Just replant a new tree. New growth uptakes more co2 than old growth. Plus the trails have to be built some how. But I still respect where your comment comes from.
People.... you dont have to mimicking or long for what you see here on youtube, we all dont have grizzly bears in our back yards. "take what you have" where you live and make the best of it". "Never Forget Your Beginner's Spirit."
Two thoughts cross my mind daily, one is, I hope this is my last day on earth, life sucks and the other is , well you just watched it. I wish I could do this stuff sometime.
@amiri1986 depends how serious you are, the occasional downhill run and jumps would be fine with an enduro but if you want to do more of that kinda stuff get the evo version
no way, a not sponsorized person wouldn't never put his 3000 dollars bike on a pick up in that way! this is a 1000 dollars fork man! i've worked hard for it!! ahah nice vid btw
Hello from Ukraine, is a beautiful movie, fell in love with a bike a year ago and now is not sweeter to him, largely due to the fact that the bike really feel the freedom and beauty of nature ... Good luck to you.
i'm getting a job this summer to get an enduro expert, after that i'll save as much as i can to take a mountianbiking trip with some buddies and do this, so pumped
I have so much respect for you, and others like you. I'm sitting here on my computer dreaming about doing this stuff, and there you are doing it. It's amazing. And it's easy to sit here and come up with reasons why I couldn't do that stuff, but that's stupid. This video is great. Inspiration to the max.
This trail looks so amazing! What a wonderful trip. I love this video. One day canada - i will com to. This film remembers me to plan my next tripp in the alps. Threre are no bears, but also nice trails ;-)
This is what mountain biking is all about! I've watched this so many times, but I never get tired of it. The remoteness, mountains and the bike. Well done Specialized & Matt Hunter!
es el video en el cual me siento mas identificado naturaleza pura! disfrute total de un ambiente "virgen" nada de basura , pesca tranquila ufff no y acompañado de una gran maquina!!! ya espero poder tener una
The reason this video is so great and deserves much attention, is because it stands out so much from other mountain biking videos. It's not about watching some joe shred through the forest. This video is great because it shares a story and you get to know the rider.
Good job for making this video. Mountain Biking film needs a revolution and this is the right way to go.
Great video and what an awesome experience! I do a lot of long backpacking trips and nothing beats the feeling of being out there in te wilderness. Just one thing, if I was him I would not cook so close to my campsite. Very dangerous thing to do in bear country
riding is about this...downhill, freeride, xc, bmx and more.. like everything disappeared......the future and past....all the problems ... just the moment.....bike
@cooksecurities: I love my 2008 Stumpjumper FSR. If I were in the market today I might opt for something more all-mountain like the Enduro or Stumpjumper FSR EVO.

This is by far the best mountain biking video I've ever seen. It hits home to most mountain bikers. This is what calls most of us to mountain biking: nature, adventure, remoteness. Not racetracks and jumps. Keep more videos like these coming, Specialized, and you'll see a big response from the mountain biking public. I'm already planning my overnight wilderness adventure on my Stumpjumper FSR!
@mbigatti Agree with ya man. It's a cool video.I love mountbiking too. But, actualy never did overnight adventure. Maybe someday I will :-) Just take my Stumpy FSR and went to the forest, enjoy the nature, fishing, make a little camp.
I'm not a Spesh rider (it's never too late, who knows) but this is my favourite MTB video on YT. It combines love for mountain biking with love of nature. Just brilliant. Well done Specialized!
It doesn't look like you carried a sleeping bag, just relied on your fire for warmth? What are the average temperatures you were expecting? Weren't you worried about hypothermia?
The splendid music in the vid is Phontaine - Fin. They have a lot a great tracks. Highly recommended! (Phontaine mostly famous as bakground sound in Roam/Collective vids. The band hangs around Nelson)
