  • Stop wasting time... first minute was pure bullshit. a minute of my life i will never get back

  • @Yrgen2 well nobody forced you to watch that first minute so you wasting time is not my problem, besides others did find the tutorial useful and that's all that matters to me

  • @nemirc yeah but still. Work on your effectiveness. I Could remake this tutorial and shorten it by 5 minutes

  • @Yrgen2 then go ahead and do it; people sharing tutorials on youtube, long or short, are way more useful than guys bitching about why some video tutorial is so long

  • @nemirc Just dont want him to make the same mistake next time. It would be appreaciated by everyone.

  • Hey..nice tut man.....for more hair tutorials visit the channel: imdvirus

  • u reeealy sound like 1 guy named Q.Zep.....lol

  • Does anyone know or having a link to any tutorial that educates on creating hair in maya?..Havegot no idea wotsoever.

  • @anthonytwocrown well I have two videos that kinda explain that (this is the first one) so maybe you can check those out. I also remember people posting tutorials using the built-in Maya Hair module here on YT.

  • Nice tut ! Interesting ! But in my render (mental ray)...hair not appear !! ???? Very frustrating !!!!

  • what version of Maya are you using? I think hair rendering wasn't available on versions prior 8.5 or something like that

  • I m using Maya 2009 . It work now but default "low" quality render , high quality not work . Not work now with RenderMan ...LOL .

  • Well if you're using the "maya hair" module, then mentalray will render that one automatically. Mentalray converts all of your hairs to really thin tubes before rendering.

If you're using PaintFX to paint hair onto a character, that's a completely different story. You have to convert those to polygons before rendering by going to modify\convert\paint effects strokes to polygons

    I hope this helps

  • @nemirc can u please help me with materials ... coz when i assign a material i can see in the presp view when i change the color and stuff .. but when i put a map it only shows when i render so pleaaaaaaaaaase help me ... it's driving me crazy :D

  • @amgaaaaad You mean a material applied to a standard object? You can press the key "6" on your keyboard to show the textures.

  • nice i need this exactly!

  • I m using a plugin , "Shave and a haircut" .Thanks for u r advice , very useful .

  • Thats cool what program is this?
