well ive been thinking of starting a nids army and i was going to buy a codex, battle force and gaunts boxed set but do you think its worth getting them now or waiting??

are the models likely to change or is it simply a new codex and a different range of minuatures in the battleforce or what they did last time they revised it where they changed every model except the gaunts??

They said you can no longer purchase Battleforces from them or Codices, GW said their no longer available, and they still sell Dark Eldar, so Nids aren't dying, most likely their getting a codex update and such! prove me wrong anyone if you can, but logic and reasoning says their doing a Codex update and updated Battleforce!

I would wait mate. The models are likely to change, as is the formation of the army. Although the structure will remain roughly the same (most likely), you may change your mind as to what you want in your force after the new release.

Also, they always redo the core troop choices, so I would wait and get the new gaunts. :3 Although, I don't know for sure what they are changing, I'm just making an assumption based on their past tendencies.

a guy at my club got it and we played a bit. it is mad fun the first few times, then it is alot of fun, but then you just want to yell because you start to get sick of it. the modells are good though, and i would buy the set just for them, but i already know the guy at my club might be selling them. that will be fun if i can afford them

It's still too expensive though. GW are playing the "it's limited" card, because they know the original games sell for heaps. People are buying lots of these games in the hope of making money with them on ebay. Also the comparative cost of the minis only really effects the people who play SM or Nids.I like space hulk, but I would sooner buy expansions for my orks than a couple of termies and genestealers that cost nearly 80€.

Correct, but they know that the price of the original SH is excessive on ebay, so that allows them to set a higher asking price for the new "limited" boxes, which they know will eventually find their way there as well. Guys in the same gaming forum as me have bought three or four boxes for exactly that reason, one to use the rest to sell. It's a decent game. but not worth that much money.

Well, I am not crying about 40K because I am not regularly dumping high amounts of money into it.

As the justification for the price seems to be the amount of minis, my point is this: AoBR cost 65€, had 50 odd minis, dreadnoughts, deffkoptas and termies included. SH cost 80€ and has 35 minis, termies and genestaelers. They both have various other things like dice, books templates and board pieces, but they are neither here nor there. The price is based on the ebay prices of the old SH.

I didn't say AoBR isn't good value. Every thing you need to play 5th ed in one box including the armies is good value. So why then can't they repeat that? You get less in SH then you did in AoBR plus it costs more. New sculpts don't justify that, and the board is still only cardboard and will fray like all the rest, besides most board games do not cost that much.

The minis alone you might actually be able to sell as they will be limited, buy the game, hold on to the minis, and then sell them to SM and Nid players (which of there are lots). That is if you where interested to earn a buck or two, which I'm personaly not, but I figure that is how I'd do it, if.

I got mine from GW on monday. GREAT MODELS, the terminators are covered in blood angel crap but its fairly easy to remove, just time consuming. the models DO NOT fit easily on the board they take some fenagling to get a row of 10 stealers packed into a hallway.
