  • Absolutely stunning

  • Somehow Ted's playing is just otherworldly - even relative to the other great legendary players. Everybody else sounds more like each other than they sound like Ted. There's nothing or nobody like him. He always puts beauty first - at least that's how it seems to me.

  • Only Ted could make tuning up sound like part of a Gershwin song. Amazing!

  • Ok somebody tab this. k thx bye

    ;)

  • Ted's brain. Amazing.

  • Bravo!!!!!!

  • Thanks again for posting these video's - Ted's playing was absolutely wonderful.

The big E string was for bottom end, obviously.

    Big Ron

  • and he makes it look like its the easiest thing in the world

  • waht's that epicly thick e string about?:D

  • @Stratozenfan Jazz.

  • Ted was one of the very best. I learn something every time I see or hear anything he did.

  • Ted has surely been taken to where his music truly belongs - heaven.

  • So thankful for these videos so we can enjoy him forever...

  • I love Ted Greene!!! What's that last chord???

  • @goldensleeves Probably some permutation of a "6/9#11" chord or a "maj7b5" chord. I dunno for sure though.

  • @mastertenorlhschoir Sounds like a 13th with a #9 to me.

  • incredible version of embraceable you. Such a great knowledge of harmony and chords played with great feeling. Don't understand why, even now after he died, he is not enough known.

    Fantastic....Love the Greene

  • Nothing short of amazing!

  • fun -reminds me of Leo Wijnkamp in '74

but all time best of this one (imho) is the one Guy Van Duser did in 1977, it blows the socks offa any other version and sticks much truer to Gershwin's timing.

  • Wow...does it get any better?

I just began some research on TG,

listening to old tapes of him teaching and playing,

and this guy seems to be one of the most real genuine people eva..

    thanks Ron
