I find it DISRESPECTFUL! Such good people, exposing like this. They are rotten, my goodness didnt you see the black skin? Thats a result of long embalming and keeping cool. The skin does not rot, but the flesh underneath is does. These people are supposed to be remembered in honour, not rememberd in a rotten body.
this is creepy.....i do respect that this is what these people wanna do....as i should be respected to comment on this serious matter....these people spend a whole lifetime living as best as humanly possible in regards to "not sinning"....and then we display their corpses and smell them...they teach us to not cling to material things...but then we worship there dead bodies and cling to there material leftovers....this is proof that we learn nothing!
These saints are the proof of our Lord Jesus. Here in Greece, we also have similar saints, who their bodies remained intact after their death and many miracles have been done by them in the name of Jesus Christ. Their body smells beautiful.
We have St Spyridon, St Gerasimos, St Nektarios and many others!!! And this happens only to people who were really saint and people knew they were saints during their lifetime.
This happens to anyone who loves God so much and follows Ηis will.
@bmtwkyka1 ur nuts....these guys taught DETACHMENT from materialism.... a dead body is just M_A_T_E_R_I_A_L without a soul....bury the poor people...and find a living monk to pray for your boo boos. Worshiping dead bodies is kinda of NOT what jesus taught...if thats what he wanted then he never would of been ressurrected as a walking talking entity....he would of been lifeless in a box and smelt good...thats not the case...so grow up and bury all things dead.
I dont understand why all these bodies are exposed. People honour the bodies, but Jesus said that our earthly body is just a temporarily one. Its the soul, the spirit that counts. Not the body. Plus, I think its really gross. I saw some really decomposing faces and hands. Our earhtly body will die, but our heavenly body will live forever. We shouldnt honour those bodies so much.
@MartinaMovies You're missing the point, Orthodox saints confirm themselves as such like this, they don't rot, their bodies only dehidrate and smell beautifull, that means that they are excepted by good as saints!! That in turn means that they are next to good in heaven (not just "in") and that they are blessed to perform miracles WITH THEIR BODIES!!!! So, you see, they are not just a pile of meat and bones which shouldn't be looked at even, they should be "used" for healing, and respected!!
@Lomnjac007 These people lived their lives by doing good things. We should remember that and learn from those people. We should honour and respect the things they did alive. By honournig their dead, decomposing ( couse that is what I saw ) we do it the wrong way. They don't even deserve to be exposed in this horrible way!
@MartinaMovies Then you need to get your eyesight checked, if you don't know the diference between dehidrated and mumified remains, and decomposing remains, try watching any episode of "Bones", you'll know the difference in a minute or so after seeing a really decomposing body!!
@Lomnjac007 I know all about bodies, I work in healthcare for a long time. I also know that if a dead body is black, the flesh underneath the skin is rotting.
@Lomnjac007 And God told us the body is only a house for our soul on earth. Once the soul left, the body is worth nothing and should be giving back to the earth. Also that is how the Bible sais we should handle dead bodies. What these people do is against that!
@Lomnjac007 Please tell me where in the Bible is written all that. Where is written that if a body does not decompose ( but these bodies are decomposing! Just look at it. They were kept cool and were embalmed for a long time to keep them good, you can deny that but it is true. Catholic church confessed! ) that it is accepted as a saint. Where can I find that in the Bible? And where do I read that they do miracles with their dead bodies?
@MartinaMovies The idea behind relics come from the Gospels, when the woman with bleeding (I think) touched Christ's garments and was healed, even without His direct, intentional action. Of course, relics are also something that as humans with just our 5 senses, can understand. Similar to how a cherished photo or belonging of a loved one can take on a significance beyond its raw material (photo paper, cotton cloth, the silver and jewel in a necklace, etc.).
@MartinaMovies Thank you...just for that im gonna personally talk to god for you...i got it like that....material detachment is the ultimate sacrifice and these people disrespect what these people lived for. Just like people that kill in the name of christ there will always be people who totally pervert the meaning of holy exsitence.
@job12ist Thanks, finally someone that agrees with me:) God told us the body is only a house for our soul on earth. Once the soul left, the body is worth nothing and should be giving back to the earth. Also that is how the Bible sais we shoulkd handle dead bodies.
I know for a fact that the Catholic church accepts all the orthodox sacraments as being valid, but can you tell me what the Orthodox church thinks of the Catholic church in that area? Thanks for listening to my 'sermon' and as a note, my comments are not intended to challenge anyone's faith in anyway. So in the event that they do, I am extremely sorry.
Before we go on speaking of the one, only and right church, let us take a look at history. In the beginning, Jesus formed one church, correct? So for many many years there was but one church. So why did the great schism happen? Political interests. If it had not been for politics, there would still be one church. Jesus wants a single church, so why do we not start working toward that?
this is pretty sick. if you have faith what is the point of relics? cant you just believe without having something physical? keeping body parts and objects seems a lot like idolaty to me. i thought christians were against this kind of thing. seems silly and ridiculous to me. isnt god enough for ou guys, why the need for saints and statues? maybe you need something tangble to see somthing human that you can relate to becasue the idea of an invisible god is just too much???? im curious.
@B4mytyme Spare us of your Protestant heresy! Having saints its not idolarity. You pray to saint,so he prays for you in front of God... Relics come from the idea of Moses wanting his body taken to the Promised Land. Also the Hemorrhagic Woman that touched Jesus' garment and power was given off. I'm not any kind of expert but there are 2 Bible based examples. Relics are 100% Biblical as are the sacraments, saints, praying for the dead the use of incense, oil, candles and holy water. I mean offence. But could someone tell me how does touching, holding, or focusing on a dead human body help us come closer to God? Are we able to take this tradition back to the Bible?
These people who have died before us, have no doubt lead wonderful Christian lives, and showed us that it can be done. BUT, surely there inspiration should be as their's was, the Word and presence of God's grace.
I respect what these folks are doing, but how does it fit in the Christian tradition?

Nice video, There is a lot of saints in the Coptic orthodox church in Egypt like this, their whole bodies reserved and not rotten. I wish we knew more about your saints, One Day God will pour out his spirit and reunite the Orthodox brothers.
dkl1972 ...Wax is not a preservative or I'm wasting money using a refrigerator. FACT: Her body incorrupt was removed from a water-filled grave, where her habit had broken down & her rosary had rusted. Ask any mortician: Water would accelerate decay. Her body was intact. When the body was washed using an extraordinarily caustic clearner, it darkened the skin, somewhat. So a thin wax film was applied. It is possible for humans to mar a body; remember the post mortem lance wound in Jesus' side?
Reference is made to the body of Saint Bernadette Soubirous (Time - 00:36). I saw her body in Nevers, France. She is even more serenely beautiful, in person.
Hi I think most of these are from the orthodox churches. But at 0.19 its St John Vianney, at 0.32 St Imelda and at 0.36 St Bernadette - hope this helps.
I don't know what to make of this. Personally, I think showing reverence to dead bodies and other relics is a silly and useless practice that takes people's minds off of the living, off of what is really important. Perhaps if you could comment in the description box, or here.
also in the Bible is something about the holy relics.just think...a human defy the nature,is something supranatural.and all they done(the saints) is to be faithful to God,this shows how much power has the faith.
is a wonder which glorify God,because through Him you become a supranatural human.these relics are not just flesh, but they also smell wonderful and make wonders.
We do not show reverence to DEAD bodies, but to living saints. Those bodies are often miracleworking ones. There is not a better icon of a saint than his body fallen asleep. For example, many people are healing themselves from cancer after praying over body of Saint Nectarios of Aegina. Those are not fairy tales, but actual happenings.
These "dead bodies" are alive ! We are not alive because we have the seed of the sin and death inside our bodies ! The Saints got rid of that seed already with the help from GOD ! GOD stopped their time turning it into eternity, so that is why their bodies are not corrupted ! The phisical process of corruption is a timely process ! Corruption needs time to take place, to happen. But the Saints have got into the eternity because their time was stopped by GOD ! Do you understand ?

At :37 they show a catholic "saint". Her body is artificially preserved though with wax. I forget her name but you can google it.

dkl1972 ...Wax is not a preservative or I'm wasting money using a refrigerator.

I would suppose that there are remnants of relics crossing most major religions...but does this tend to be more of a Catholic practice?
whamfan87 3 years ago
no it's orthodox, but are also some catholics
jardelle 3 years ago
the catholic relics are the fresh ones - St. Bernadette of Lourdes, France, St. Jean Vianny, St. Catherine, pictured with the dark skin.
The other saints relics shown here must be orthodox, as I don't recognize them. Yes, supernatural!

I don't know what to make of this. Personally, I think showing reverence to dead bodies and other relics is a silly and useless practice that takes people's minds off of the living, off of what is really important. Perhaps if you could comment in the description box, or here.

also in the Bible is something about the holy relics.just think...a human defy the nature,is something supranatural.and all they done(the saints) is to be faithful to God,this shows how much power has the faith.
jardelle 3 years ago
is a wonder which glorify God,because through Him you become a supranatural human.these relics are not just flesh, but they also smell wonderful and make wonders.

Dear "Largo64"
These "dead bodies" are alive ! We are not alive because we have the seed of the sin and death inside our bodies ! The Saints got rid of that seed already with the help from GOD ! GOD stopped their time turning it into eternity, so that is why their bodies are not corrupted ! The phisical process of corruption is a timely process ! Corruption needs time to take place, to happen. But the Saints have got into the eternity because their time was stopped by GOD ! Do you understand ?
