  • Absolutely spot-on! How anybody can dislike this is beyond me! True lyricism, REAl Hip-Hop, this is the kind of material that never ages, just gets better with time, particularly now with the Shit-Hop foistered upon us!

  • I like Paris, he's the greatest rapper. This is from 1992.The rap music from 1978-2002 was good, big time.

  • Wiz Khalifa did not send me here.

  • people going crazy!!!!

  • one of the greatest hip hop tracks ever, this song has everything: beat, content, flow, social value... and only 80k views in almost 4years ^^ (while ink my whole body of wiz khalifa has millions becuz of the same beat, it cant be his lyrics so WTF)

  • only wish people would listen 2 the lyrics... not just jam the music..this has such a badass message in it...

  • damn this shit is sooooo real man...smh this is y i love old school rap. n im only 15. ive been diggin real shit like this sence i was 13 bac in 09

  • it aint the same as the days of old!

  • One of my all time favorite tracks! The sample on the hook is so deftly crafted, this is Paris at the top of his production game. Just listen to the lyrics, so much truth behind it. I was so fortunate to come of age when Lyrical substance and Afrocentricity were major factors in the Rap Game . Now we have clowns like Lil Wayne sporting women's leggins down on his ass! Damn Shame

  • 4 people died young

  • Damn....this shit damn near brings a tear to my eye as I listen to it....for real for real!! I remember this from back in da day & it's message still applies. True to life shit right here!! "Alot of us like to blame the white man, until we understand that the problem is no longer him"! Preach Paris...

  • Only buster ass punk ass mark ass faggots dislike this song, this is real shit, listen up!

  • da ending wit the covering of da face hit me hard..time fa all of us to quit shooting eachother ova bullshit reasons no matter ur white, black or brown we all in tha same struggle..

  • What can I say. This is the real shit. I mis the days of old...

  • This was and this is hip hop! We don't need the crap hip hop aritists produce today.

  • real music with a real message wake up

  • This beat is originally from the Geto Boys, Mind Playing Tricks on Me 1991. In addition, the beat was utilized by Dr. Dre, when he was on the Death Row Label. The song is called "Stranded Death Row", 1992, The Chronic.

  • i love this sound

  • @1:46, 'You start to believe that black folk are savage, but before you do, allow me to say, that in the old days we didn't act that way see, Kings & Queens were the names of the righteous, but the sons of slaves are insane and we might just, self destruct an erupt without a chance to grow, this ain't the days of old'. That's some of the most profound lyrics in hip hop histrory, describes our people, and our plight here in "Amerikkka" to a tee, wake up Brotha's n Sista's, classic 90's hip hop...

  • I love this song, and this beat, but Paris went too strong for me in this vid, damn!

  • i miss the old days, this is real rap, these days artists just want a check, with few exceptions....

  • much luv u kno wat it iz fuc wit me chalipayday use to b charles X

  • Comment removed

  • the beat is chil as fuck :)

  • Man I remember listening to this classic joint. Who is the idiot who hit the dislike button? Some people are soooooooooo stupid...

  • TOP TRACK!

  • With nothing new under sun, neither times nor situations change. What does change is our awareness of situations. Kids see things differently than adults, ...they are way more resilient and optimistic and hopeful. We think things have changed, when it is really us who have grown bitter to our situations... if you don't believe me, just check out history, decade by decade, and the gripes hopes and concerns from generation to generation for as far as you want to go back... notice any patterns?

  • sounds like Horace Brown-One for the Money

  • my names JOHNNY! lol wiz khalifa didnt steal this beat, johnny juliano stole it, sampled it and sold it too wiz. You ppl are fuckin dumb

  • This joint still gives me chills..

  • Paris wuz da man.

  • Nice sample of "Mysterious Vibes".........by Donald Byrd

  • @mistashay: Actually, Mysterious Vibes was performed by The Blackbyrds, Mr. Byrd's students/prodigies/back-up band.

  • Its so much knowledge in this one song.... It seems the new generation not getting the messege...

  • I listen to the album so many times til the magnetic tape frazzled...:) big up from Hungary, East-Europe!

  • LOVE THIS ALBUM. PARIS ALWAYZ DROPPED SCIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE ON HIS SONGS. WATS REALLY SAD ABOUT THIS SONG THIS STUFF IS STILL GOING ON. CRAZY

  • " Proud To Have an original Vinyl " ... Bellissima Song ...

  • BIG BIG PROBS FROM GERMANY :) have read all about la gangs on wikipedia !

  • Man what happen to this type of rap, this new FUCKIN SUCKS,big UPs to my man PARIS were ever you may be. CHIDOGG

  • whoever disliked this is gay

  • @BboyLilNocturnal They just don't know how 2 appreciate REAL Hip Hop. This is real-not the watered-down stuff u hear on the radio. Paris is one of the most influential MC's of our time. His legacy will live on.

  • definitely one of the greatest out there that hip hop has to offer

  • "Sleeping With The Enemy" is one of the best albums of all time!

This is a fantastic song and an even better video!

  • i din't know, i don't know. i'm sad. i try...

  • STRAIGHT UP OLD SKOOL CLASSIC SHIT

  • One of my favorite videos/songs from Paris.

    Edutainment > entertainment

  • @IceManLikeGervin I agree with you 100% This song and the video are very touching. Back in the day alot of us black folks use to get pumped up and we wanted to fight the power. But deep down,we were too busy fighting among ourselves.

Some of us black folks don't understand the concept of Edutainment. Many of us just want to be ENTERTAINED! This song and video helps me to reflect on the BIGGER issue that affects us more than racism..That's Self-hatred. Only we can keep ourselves in check!!

  • boy im i kurious

  • SALUTE TO YOU ALL ! SO MUCH MEMORIES ON THAT SH..peace

  • this song is fucking trash... WIZ KHALIFA fools............

  • @mahood96

You have no business listening to this, ignorant little punk

  • @mahood96 guessing cuz your name is manhood96 im gonna throw out that your 14? if so, you just proved that only kids listen to that shit. why? because kids are fuckin stupid and are only concerned with shiny objects, dumbed down lyrics, and the social norm. paris would lyrically rip wiz's asshole out of his mouth

  • @mahood96 ur a clown

  • @mahood96 wiz looks like a crack head trickin on amber hoe rose

  • Wheres All Of Paris Music At

  • Can’t emphasize enough the power a song like this could make on the black community, need to remake and disturb again to the “so call” black own radio stations and music video programs and if they don’t play” expose them and don’t patronize….”

  • this beat comes from an oldschool song back in the 70's or 80's. does anybody know the sample?

  • @o0R3stless0o Blackbyrds - Mysterious Vibes

  • This is very well produced and has been overlooked. It is a hip hop treasure.

  • By Design

50% of all black babies aren't born

Eugenics - founded by Margaret Sanger

Margaret Sanger & Bill Gates Sr. - sought to kill off black babies

    IT'S THE NWO EUGENICS

    END THE NWO

    END THE FED

    UNITE AGAINST THE TRUE EVIL

ALL RACES AGAINST THE SUPER ELITE RICH: BLACK, WHITE, YELLOW OR BROWN CENTRAL BANKERS...GOING DOWN.

SUPER WEALTHY SCUM WILL BE TAKEN DOWN

  • i don't get at the end, 3:54.

Did the girl die too ?

  • "Can't Do Anything Without Some Fool Actin' Up, You Start To Believe That Black Folk Are Savage But, Before You Do Allow Me To Say That In The Old Day's We Didn't Act That Way See, Kings And Queens Were The Name's Of The Righteous But The Son's Of Slave's Are Insane And We Might Just, Self Destruct And Erupt Without A Chance To Grow, This Ain't The Day's Of Old".

Real talk! We all betta recognize and wise up. Stop fallin' victim to bullshit. Learn, grow, and teach our youth's.

    PeacE!

  • shame how wiz khalifa's rip off of this instrumental has over 3 million views... while this is only at 31 k views.

  • @eyesmcgyver Wiz Khalifa is a monster and you cant really hate on him for taking a sample and changing it up, this is killer too and I agree it deserves a lot more views but people moving on from the golden ages of hip hop onto bullshit like Lil Wayne

  • @BlIIzY Music and Movies are like people. As time gets older so do traditional ways. Look at women now compared to how they were just 40 years ago. Most women are sluts now, like how Common described Hip-Hop through a woman's soul. That's what it is, Hip-Hop is a slut now, meaningless but at least with sluts some guys use for fun you can't even enjoy a few seconds of Little Wayne. As for Wiz Khalifa? What song are you referring too? Wiz is just a smarter version of Lil Wayne, same ole gimmick.

  • @MobHeataEnt Yeah I compeletly agree and im not saying I like every song by Wiz its not close to the old days like this but its not like lil wayne only talking about drugs, guns money and bitches in autotune,

  • @MobHeataEnt Yeah I completely agree and im not saying I like every song by Wiz its not close to the old days like this but its not like lil wayne only talking about drugs, guns money and bitches in autotune,

  • i dunn understand something: the song is from 92...and what is that 2003 sign? the video clip?

  • @kissmarton I was confused about that too, but I assume it's just the copywrite info..there's nothing like this around these days..nothing like the Days of Old.

  • The Blackbyrds - Mysterious Vibes

  • 1992 ??????????????????????????????????

  • One of my favorite hip hop tracks of all time. Paris one of the best hip hop voices. Totally underrated.

    Sample:The Blackbyrds - Mysterious Vibes

  • Obóz Ta - Wczoraj

  • I like to meet the one person who doesnt like this and smash his face

  • They don't make videos like this anymore. All praise due to Allah.

  • true tht thy fuckin killin us with thy stupid shit thy do but stll thy cant face the real hiphop rapers and mc's and to lt you know real hiphop is so underground im in love with ths music for 6 years and im from gulf , middle east , bahrain, manama but im african muslim so ths s what im listnin to and bboyin is what i do so fuck lil wayne and hes fans PEACE

  • lol thats my bro in the bigining on the bike thats hella dope.24th and folsom changed so much

  • He sounds like Will Smith

  • @Radjuk I think he sounds BETTER than Will. His flow is smooth--But Will has some great jams himself.. ;)

  • forsure !! i agree with MobHeataEnt. this song just made my night

  • nice instru

  • Man this shit is deep.....I wish hip hop was still like this....I miss it for real....

  • THIS is what should've been on the radio

  • WORD UP!

  • this is culture..

    when rap music was great

  • hoow the hell does this song have only 24,454.

better wake up foreal, get back to real hiphop

  • This IS rap.

  • Rap with a message was lost long ago. No one out today that can compare to paris, pe, booyaa, Blac monks, hell even a tribe called quest. Last 10 years or so been about nothin but image.

  • donald byrd and the blackbyrds

  • Thanks to listening to PARIS i'm now exploring 70's funk/soul acts like the blackbyrds/ gap band etc, this is real music, hip hop funk soul jazz, i love it.

  • lucifer dont know shit, this foo knows about how tha lord giving him a calling 2 reach out too yungstas..

  • i feel soul...hiphop was our tool of unity but we gave it away..,.,its so much more then music its religion of humanity...don't trust me jest listen to the beat...it has soul

  • one of the best hip gop songs ever

  • @nickeg01 fo real. it don't get better than this

  • BETTER WAKE UP! It ain't the same as the days of old.

  • I was just talking to my younger cousin about how it used to be in the innercity back in the day. Staying out late ,we'd never want to go home. We never had to worry about getting shot, maybe beat up,but a boy could learn how to stand up and be a man. Baseball fields were always full, and people just got along for the most part...and then crack came, along with the gangs and gun shots every where,AIDS,Playstation,laziness...

    He just doest get it.

  • Before their was this immortal technique fellow speaking about the people and such there was paris....

  • i agree and this sonng is so true

  • i really do miss the days of old

  • i missed the days of old ,GOOOOOD MUUUUSIC.....!!! but it s good to know that the people around here r familiar wit that what i mean

  • Classic song. Amazing beat, amazing lyrics, and amazing video. Nowadays everywhere you are the only thing you'll witness is songs with computer made beats, talking about grills and driving cars while having sex with 10 different hoes and videos featuring a bunch of whores together with the "rapper" in a club. How ironic the originators of all of this are respected to the fullest by hip hop heads, Slick Rick was perhaps the first to look pimped out, Big Daddy Kane was the first to make r&b/rap...

  • chill with homies, listen to this hang out and everything was so relaxed...miss the days of old too man

  • This song has so much soul in it and positive message. This song has only 18,350 views while Lil Wayne's Lollipop has 40 million, and Soulja Boy's Soulja Girl has 24 million. That show's that most people are just ignorant and dumb.

  • @MobHeataEnt Mindless music for the masses. I swear, thinking must hurt for the majority.

  • i feel you b, but i dont think its peoples ignorance, i think its just the times changing.

This song is from back in 2003 (now 7 years ago which is a long time) less people were aware of youtube and less songs like this 1 were uploaded.

Hip hop is also more popular now than it was 7 years ago so lil wayne appeals to more people.

Also lil wayne made it commersh, whereas you ask most people who "paris" is theyl say a country.

  • This song is actually from 92, and statistically speaking their are more dumb people today than before.

  • @MobHeataEnt it shows nothing but what kids listen to today. Lil'Wayne and Soulja Boy is played on TV, radio and you cant avoid finding them on the internet. But only true hip hop fans know about these dope underground rappers. If media played underground hip hop Lil'Wayne and Soulja Boy would be cleaning the toilets at mc'donalds.

Wish the media could play shit like this. then it actually be worth getting a Radio.

  • @respect2thaGs Yep, I stopped listening to the radio years ago.

  • @MobHeataEnt TRUE! ('nuff said)

  • @MobHeataEnt it's called marketing

  • @kuihkun ok

  • @MobHeataEnt True ...

  • @MobHeataEnt Amen. This is REAL, original rap. All these stupid imitators are trash!

  • @MobHeataEnt

eh bro..i feel you..straight up...i've this song in my head for 15 years damn near..this just a straight up good tune, track and all, but there's also a message...times have changed bro, times have changed..

  • @MobHeataEnt

and yo..LOL!!..on some other shit, this is when you were still able to show guns in videos...feel me...

  • @MobHeataEnt

that's the whole problem you resumed here.

    it's a pity.

  • I agree.Damn fine music for black folk

  • @MobHeataEnt Preach brutha, PREACH!!!

  • @MobHeataEnt You truly have a point! Now hip-hop was suppose to be about having fun, but we could also use some edutainment with a krs-1,paris,p.enemy,dead prez, etc. These cats still are relevant cause our struggle STILL exists. Our war with racsim is still here, however we've been fighting self-hatred and ignorance the longest and it's left more casualties. Now back to hip-hop being fun.Nothing wrong with that, but I agree it's sad that many of us are fascinated with clowns then with the truth.

  • @MobHeataEnt That's because the younger generation is so stuck on cars, jewelry, women, etc. Many of the young rappers of today don't really put out a positive message like they did back in the day. You must also remember that this song came out in 1992. Paris was WAY ahead of his time. He still continues to make positive music even to this day. I just wish the younger rappers would wake up & take heed to what's being said in this particular message. Paris is one of the realest MC's EVER!

  • Damn', a man with something to express and give, a rare thing nowadays. Used to kick back in Spain listening to this with the Ghost Rider of Calahonda :-).

  • classic

  • checkout his myspace page too and post comments there. We should show him our love and respect

  • classic! THIS is my youth, my live.....I am 37 years old, and this song is my mind eveyday! Thank u Paris, for makin this music and spreadin this message....

  • Y'all had the realest brothers rhymin in those days. We youngbucks these days got some whackass niggers on tv talkin bout they bling cars and bs.

    PARIS FO LIFE!

  • awesome classic ..

    deep beat & lyrics..always

    5*****

  • only a remnent will hear the true voice of God. remember that.

  • ♥

  • Classic and thought provoking hip hop. The fact that it only has 14,500 views when all the other hollow rubbish out there gets millions of views says something about us as a community.

Paris Brother .... you're spot on brother - we miss the days of old.

    When will we realise.

  • yep thats sad thats because most people are stupid and fooled and controled through the media and subliminal advertising and a changing society. its like immortal technique talks about backpack rappers if your album goes platinum it means a million people are stupid as fuck.

  • THIS is real hip hop, none of that Li'l Wayne/autotune BS. MEssage and thoughtful rhymes.

  • Homes you can't even compare those two! Look man I'm from Serbia, I was at Paris his concert! The man gave me a hand shake and I told him Iam happy to finaly meet you. He said the same for me and much respect my brother!! He was down to earth and giving respect. One of the best moments in my life , cause I know what stands for, and that is what we all stand for. PEACE my Brothers!

  • to Politically Slow: not exactly true. Paris and Alex both believe that 9-11 was an inside job.

  • Such a good song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn this shit is classic

  • From all the articles that ive read, Dj shadow supposedly produced this track along with 2 others. As well as doing co-production and laying down some scratches.

Paris even bought Shadow his MPC60!

  • sound off! fuck youtube!

  • @golofffin what do you mean ?

  • @golofffin thank youtube only way i ever would of found half the songs that changed my life like this

  • Why is the sound off..?

  • I believe it's off because of some copyright stuff. If you get a chance, check it out on his website. It's one of his best songs ever-if you never heard it.

  • This song reminds me of the time that I was living in Baltimore back in 1992.

  • What beat did they sample to make this beat?

  • It was "Im Kurious" by Kurious from 1994. This one is off of "Strapped" movie soundtrack. I love this joint.

  • the blackbyrds "mysterious vibes"

  • SHOUT OUT TO PARIS on the alex jones show last friday this is still my favorite paris song

  • Paris didn't agree with Alex Jones on ANYTHING and AJ was too much of a bitch to say what he thought.

  • it makes me thrill... and cry!

    beautiful!!!

  • Oh, sorry then. Was pretty sure it was Shadow behind it.

  • nothing touches this era of classic shit. this reminds me of back in the day when i used to wear condoms to parties and always had a fist of vaseline and chile powder. shit ain't the same. we might as well all implode. serious.

  • dope beat

  • filebucket, check out DJ Shadow (this track was produced by him). Don't get put off by the awful name, he's great.

  • Hell yeah shadow is great, word he produced this?? i always thought Kurious rocked this sample the best, Paris one upped him 10 years later

  • Nope, Shadow didn't produce this, Paris did. Shadow gave him the sample though. He had a radio show and Shadow used to come through a lot.

  • Shadow didn't do this. Good dj, but he didn't do this one.

  • As far as i know, DJ Shadow produced this whole album (Sleeping With The Enemy).

  • Wrong. I have the album credits in front of me. Shadow produced none of it. EgnDvs (below) is right.

  • ok well i guess i wuz wrong -- DJ Shadow didnt produce this whole album. i just looked up if he did any production on this album, and his website sayz that he produced The Days of Old, and also produced Funky Lil Party and Make Way For a Panther...i dont have tha album credits so if what you're sayin iz right then i guess that Shadow just wuznt credited...

  • You believe him over Paris? Paris has been doing his own shit for years

  • 1st off, let me say that i am much more a fan of Paris than i am of DJ Shadow...in fact, i'm not even a DJ Shadow fan, but i dont understand why he would wanna take credit for production on 3 Paris songz if he didnt have anything to do with them. its alot eazier to beleive that someone wuz left out from credits, then to beleive that they would lie and say that they produced a track that they had nothin to do with.
