thats not phase, i think whatever you used to record has some sort of auto volume setting on it because your computer is noisy, you notice that noise in the beginning is only there during quiet parts, maybe try an external mic and some better software.

Yeah, it was from my laptop cam, I have an external mic now and I'm looking to get a good software program, any suggestions?

in my opinion any software will work as long as you can learn how to use it well, i use cubase le which works real well for me but it just comes with experience. I record with my laptop mic at school and i have exactly the same problem with computer noise. But with an external mic and any software you should be golden, keep up the good work
