i got back from my second tour in ramadi. i was there in '05-'06 and got back from my second one last nov. al anbar is truly a more peaceful region. the first time, my company averaged 2.3 contacts with the enemy a day and this last time we did not take a single casualty. the war may have been wrong, but we CAN leave that country better than it was.

i did too. but that was more because we had nothing to do anymore. if you saw the reconstruction in anbar you would see that all those guys that fought and died in that province did not die in vain. my second deployment was more of a healing proccess for me personally after what happened the first time becaused of the progress that has been made

Both are members of a LIBERAL think tank, the Brookings Institution and are both registered Democrats. Anyone familiar with O'Hanlon and Pollack know that they have been "vocal critics" of this administration to the exact same extent that Lieberman, Hannity, and Limbaugh have been "vocal critics". The primary reason they say the "surge is working" is because their reputations are riding on it.

What's next? Will Brit Hume and Bill O'Reilly write a "shocking" article on their support of Bush and the surge?
