  • My favourite strictly dance,

  • James does very good rumba routines..

  • I couldnt care less abt the dancing, but Ms Lunghi just looks better and better as the years go by.

  • 服が綺麗だけど・・・、顔がおばちゃん(- -;)

  • this is absolutely the best rumba to have ever come out of strictly. I get goose bumps every time I watch it. Beautiful

  • James is a wonderful choreographer. There's a series of moves around 0:51-3 that showcase her beautifully. I loved Cherie, she was outstanding

  • Absolutely beautiful .....

  • great :-) btw. james is a perfekt dancer. he presents his partner as it should be and their on a really good level together!

  • Just shows that Us Oldies can dance. Shame her Latin let her down - dont know why when she is half-Italian. This was so beautiful and what a body she still has.

  • 0:31, 1:17 and 1:34.

    Beautiful!

  • The classiest rumba and it was her first dance too(?). Shame she couldn't do latin. Still, we will have this memory forever.

  • OMG I loved this dance! They were amazing!!! Great couple..and the dress WOW i want that dress!! LOVE JAMES! his hot!!!! lol

  • Beautiful arms and hands and the rest my favourite Cherie.

  • Really good rumba, not too sexual or awkward, just right!!!

  • best rumba ever on strictly, so tender and loving with beautiful start/stop sweeps. just outstanding - cherie you deserved to go much further!

  • wow. amazing!

  • Best rumba that's been on stictly so far. I don't care that the judges gave Rachel and Vincent 40/40 this is miles better. Gutted Cherie didn't get further.

  • I totally agree. For me, that is how a rumba should be danced. It was pure bliss!

  • Her dress is AMAZING THE DANCE WOW I FELL OF MY CHAIR WHEN I WATCHED IT LOL

  • Comment removed

  • I wud say the Fashion Designer has done a marvellous Job ...

of course dance rockz too ...xD:

  • that was the first thing i thought too i lov this show first for the clothes then the dancing lol some of the dresses oh my god beautiful!!

  • this is romance in a dance

  • Still the best dance in SCD 2008

  • Yep, you are SO right, This was brilliant.

  • 'Songbird' - Eva Cassidy

  • A beautiful dance to a beautiful song. Cherie looks fabulous

  • song ?

  • songbird by the all angels. xx

  • I think the original is by Fleetwood Mac - it's on the 'Rumours' album ...

  • Perfection !

  • Then why on earth are you watching videos of it? Nobody is forcing you to!

  • James was STILL peeved with John on SCD It Takes 2. Sorry they won't bring back J and C.

  • john has left the competition everyone i am being serious! don't watch stricly on saterday!

  • Actually shed a tear on Sunday

  • Serjeant was only invited on as the 'comedy turn' meant to last a week or two before being kicked off, so the judges could show us how clever they are with the real talent... well long may they be stuck with him, he's popular and entertaining, and they're being revealed as superfluous and redundant. Go on John, dance, dance, DANCE!!! Or at least, move about in a reasonably coordinated, well- meaning sort of fashion.

  • To be quite honest, as much as I adore this show the british public are making a complete joke of IT. WHY do they keep voting for that fat ugly walrus. I wouldn't mind if he was some sexy young stud. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHAT IS THE FUCKING MATTER WITH EVERYONE.

  • The British public are making a complete joke of this show because that's what it deserves. It's vaccuous bilge that needs to be removed from our screens along with the rest of "T.V. for the brain dead" programmes like Big Brother, X Factor, I'm a Celebrity etc.

Q;Why not have a programme with real dancers or "celebrities" doing their real jobs?

A; Because the rabbit brained British public wouldn't watch it! VOTE J.S.

  • where would the competition be in having a show with real dancers? and there are real dancers who teach others to...cant you appreciate how some of them go from never moving a step to full routines in a week? thats why ppl watch, i watch it but i dont watch im a celebrity and all that crap so dont tie us all with the same brush and watch something else to your taste

  • Squiffy; You make my point beautifully. The British public cannot appreciate artistry or great skill for it's own sake, it has to be "dumbed down" to a tacky competition featuring people who are actually not very good, so that it doesn't exceed Joe public's attention span. Who would watch it if it were real experts purely demonstrating their art. Not you evidently. Watch out for "Celebrity Heart Op". Ten newsreaders compete to see who can perform the best triple bypass. You'll LOVE it.

  • yes but i appreciate art, i love to visit the galleries, i go to the theatre but i 'still' enjoy strictly, it is allowed to enjoy a not so serious show sometimes. unfortunately i do enjoy the celebrity culture we have today, i read heat magazine, but only because i like to see what they are wearing not necessarily cos i wanna know what time they took a shit. im just a very observant person.

  • i think programmes like big brother where they exploit everyday people are far worse.

  • Sqiffy, You're right. It IS unfortunate that you enjoy today's celebrity culture. However, look on the bright side, at least you read Heat magazine, that's only one step away from writing a novel!

  • lol but i enjoy it, i still read books, you have to have something upstairs to understand pratchett, very funny too. as for celebrity culture, being a poor girl from a working class family i just like to see how the other half live whether i think they are tossers or not. i dont idolise any of them. and i dont have role models so im not the typical glossy mag reader i spose.

  • He does need to go. But it has nothing to do with his looks - what kind of shallow competition would that be? Grow up.

It's a dance competition and he needs to go because he can't dance.

  • I loved her. I am so upset she left!

  • This dance is so brilliant.

  • they look so beautiful together

  • The song is Songbird by fleetwood Mac - on the Romours album.....

  • The version by Eva Cassidy is also lovely.

  • I think this is the Eva Cassidy arrangement though, isn't it?

  • WHATS THIS SONG????

  • What a Babe

  • beautiful. would love it if they won

  • FANTASTIC! what a dance! she was amazing!

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Cherie is brilliant! She's a class act on the dancefloor and can do latin and ballroom. James deserves a good partner lol, he's always been out week 4 i think, with Georgina Bouzova and Gabby Logan :) Cherie to win!!

  • This is the best rumba ever on SCD. It was beautiful, romantic and classy. Cherie and James are perfect together. Hope they stay in as long as possible.

  • i love the rumba and im learning myself but my god this woman is amazing to watch, cherie and the newly gorgeous james have a very good chance of winning!

  • This just totally wins!

    Cherie to win!

  • WINNER.

  • It's an old Fleetwood Mac song, which was covered by Eva Cassidy...

  • she is fantastic

  • Cherie Lunghi is a class act, always has been. Go Cherie and James!

  • The song is called Songbird and it is by Eva Cassidy

  • And the late Eva Cassidy is from my home town of Bowie, Maryland, in the states!

  • This dance is so touching.

    I miss my ex :(

  • love it. love him!! hope they go far (yn).

    whats this song tho?

  • I think she is brillant! I hope she stays in a long time. It will be interesting to see if she can handle the Jive and Salsa.

  • Cherie is the best. When i watched this dance it actually made me cry She is so beautiful to watch.

  • Nice ass! Dayum!

  • Who marked him down? it is!

  • As a latina girl i feel embarrased to say that this lady dance much better than myself and many others latina girls i have seen dancing 'la rumba bolero'

  • 56. Apparently.

And if my body is anywhere near as fit as that when I'm 56, I'll be happy!

She is stunning - definitely a frontrunner ... so far.

  • Errrrrmmmmm - just out of interest ......

How old is Ms Lunghi ????

  • She is 56 SteveCaftdunt.

I wonder how she will cope with a fast dance.

  • amazin i love them want her to win!!!!!!!!!!

  • lets see you do better

  • You must be looking in a mirror rather than at the dancing

  • amazeing performance!!!

  • This woman has so much natural ability, grace and rhythm. In terms of style and sheer class, she is head and shoulders above the motley collection of soap has-beens, can't sing pop stars and over the hill sports people that make up the competition.

  • This is beautiful shows what a great actress she is x

  • I want to kiss her.

  • she is amazingly graceful but also such a pleasure to watch. definitely the best dance of the evening and no she hasn't had dance lessons since she was three!

    Love her!

  • fab!!!! best dance of the night

  • Gorgeous song,brilliant rumba!!

  • Just BEAUTIFUL :-)

  • omgggggg AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! very well done ;) a immense performance <3 totally touching! i've been tryin to find out the name of the song anyone know????? i desperatly want it xxxxxx

  • It's Song Bird, by Eva Cassidy :-)

  • thankyou :D much appreciated ;) xxxx

  • i thought you weren't aloud lifts in the latin dances?

  • No, I think it's okay as long as at least one foot stays on the floor.

  • Best celeb rumba ever! Beautiful - Loooove James :) xx

  • I agree with you about eva cassidy's version. a beautiful dance and for a mature woman ,she looked amazing. enjoyed the dance very much, i think Austin will win

  • Amazing... She's so beautiful. What a lovely performance.

  • This Dance Is So Beautiful

  • Cherie has a serene beauty. But she is also sensual and passionate. She has an excellent partner too. They deserve the crown in my view.

  • nice but I think overrated

  • I hope she wins...

  • It was so beautiful I got a little tear in my eye! If I was his wife I'd be worried :S Is it just me who thinks he's gorgeous?

  • I think this was overrated last night.

I have no idea, but it just didn't work for me.

However, she does do amazing routines for her age. James' choreography is fantastic - a very very subtle and elegant rhumba... apart from the slow kick to the front. Eeek.

Anyway, the boy's will give the girls a real run for their money this year.

Check out the fixed camera clips on the strictly website.

    Tom to win! :)

  • Truly mesmerising. I couldn't take my eyes off them! They have a chemistry that no other celeb couple has this year. They are actually the only couple i really look forward to each week! This was a stunning dance.

  • songbird-performed by many artists(oasis, fleetwod mac etc) but my favourite would be eva cassidy's. beautiful music my man!

  • This is Eva Cassidy's version! The acoustic guitar and light percussion. The vocal arrangement is also the exact same as Eva's -R.I.P

The song is a Fleetwood Mac Song, sung by the fantastic Stevie Nicks. :)

  • the original of this song was in fact written and performed by Christine McVie, not Steve Nicks, it was the one rare time that Christine McVie sang solo. Eva Cassidy's version does take it to another level though

  • whats the music??

  • songbird-performed by many artists(oasis, fleetwod mac etc) but my favourite would be eva cassidy's. beautiful music my man!

  • whats the music?

  • Cherie and James have such a presence together on the dance floor: poetry in motion. They are a pleasure to watch.

  • Love the dance Cherie was fantastic but it wasn't the highest scoring rumbha, that goes to Colin & Erin in series 3

  • This has already slipped into my top 10 alltime strictly dances. They'll just get better too. She hassomething more than Rachel. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's such a serene power. Happy for James too, he was spectacular!

  • I thought this was the best Rhumba I've seen on Strictly over all the series. It was terrific - and brought a lump to my throat. Cherie and James - what a fantastic duo, they work together so well.

  • Done it before.

  • It has been quite some time since I experienced goosebumps watching strictly. This was one of those strictly moments people will be talking about five years from now. Like Jill's Jive, this is the most perfect Rhumba since the programme started. A joy to watch.

  • Cherie is a wonderful actress and an extremely graceful and gifted dancer. When she did the Rhumba she was both dramatic and sensual and created a love story with her partner. She is simply beautiful and accomplished and deserves to win. All this nonsense about her age is ridiculous!

  • Awesome... Just awesome! :)

  • This dance was absolutely amazing! I love Cherie & James and they fully deserved their top placing again this week x

  • Wow, I thought Cherie would struggle with the Rumba but this was great!

Highlight of the night for me :) Well deserved marks.
