  • do someone remember the simpsons canyonero? was like the same song

  • Adventurer name taken from the famous Desoto of the 50's... it's a beautiful pick up by the way

  • Was it a real convertible or just a Landau? Or neither?

  • @cuvautoofficial neither

  • @OsbornTramain Did dodge paint the bodies and roofs a different color a lot?

  • @OsbornTramain I believe you could get the roof in variousy colors different from the Body. White stands out in my mind as another popular color. I could be wrong though, not 100 % sure here

  • I found a new ringtone.

  • wow thats a rip off of ghost rider

  • @willyscj2a1 lol it's not a rip off, it's a cover....I'm sure Chrysler had to pay a royalty to do this. All the car company's among other companies have taken popular tunes, and changed the words to help sell their cars.....

Chrysler....The night belongs to Myrya....into The night belongs to Mirada, Toast of the Town...for the Chrysler New Yorker song....Volare...for the Plymout Volare....etc...etc...just a marketing tool.

  • @OsbornTramain You know the song, "Dodge Is Turning Up The Fever"? That's a takeoff of "Do You Know The Way To San Jose?" by Dionne Warwick. "They call the wind, 'The Fury' "? I thought the wind was called "Moriah!" Five'll getcha ten they weren't the first to do it, and heaven knows it wasn't the last.

  • @OldcarsNmusic Plymouth Fury also had Sonny and Cher's "the beat goes on". Yep, I"m sure there are tons....I don't get why someone would think it was a rip off..this is standard advertising practice.

  • Thats Me in the video (Blonde Woman), How cool is that !!!

  • @Bermudabernie1 Thats fantastic!!!!! tell us more...who are you? We'd love to know! I've always wonder about people in commercials and tv...the what ever happened to them......??? please.... :O) I posted this video.

  • @OsbornTramain

How did you get the commercial? I did that commercial back in the sixties. We went to South Dakota to film it. At that time I was interviewing for the "Dodge Girl". It boiled down to myself and another actress. She got the Dodge Girl and they gave me the truck commercial!

  • I had done many commercials and industrial films prior to that. After the Dodge truck commercial I went on to be the "Sunoco Girl" for Sun Oil for three years. I was Mrs. Pinchon's secretary on the Lou Grant series. I did other small parts in movies. I went on to become a nurse and to be a paramedic for the LA Fire Department. I retired in 2005. Thank's for the interest!!

  • @Bermudabernie1 I saw one of the Sunoco Commercials, you son sent me. Is that Dick Sargent playing the part of one of the car drivers...(Ford Country Squire) The guy that played Darin on the TV show Bewitched??

  • CAYONERRROOOOOO LOL!!!

  • ....an old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy dayyyyyyy.....

  • these trucks were ugly as hell, but tough

  • Reminds me of Canyonero!! commercial from the Simpsons!

  • @CDTbossy yeah, lol. this must be the inspiration for that episode.

  • nobody would buy a dodge truck if they didnt have a cummins or hemi in it...

  • Just gave a 71 Adventurer to my friend for his birthday. It was the greatest gift I've ever given someone.

  • quite an upscale pickup for its time, never seen one though.

  • Does that fold down in the middle for your laptop? Dodge was ahead of their time!

  • Both Dodge and GMC/Chevy trucks made massive redesigns to their trucks in the early "70s" when they stopped putting the fuel tank behind the seat, as well as Ford. However, at the time Ford kept it's same basic body design from the early "60s" to 1979 I think

  • Ford's Pickup introduced in 68 was all new. That body style was kept thru 1978. Dodge Introduced it's totally new Pickup in 1971. It was continued until 1992 with a mild restyle in the early eighties. GM's all new pick up came out in 73 and was in production basically until 1994 or there abouts.

  • just a correction, Ford introduced there new pickup all new in 1967, that body style remained in till 1972, then in 1973 Ford introduced a all new pickup truck again with the same kind of styling the 67-72's had, same engines and almost the same frames, but no sheet metal would interchange with the older 67-72, except the tailgates could interchange but both had different design styles, 1979 would be the end of the old style design, and in 1980 Ford would go onto a more modern 80s design

  • that sounds correct. i found the windsors up to 74 where way better than late 70's/80's. i had a 79 2wd w/a 302, honest that motor wasn't much good. after it blew i put in a '71 302 and man what a difference. more reliable, sounded better more high-end power. it's amazing a 302 in '71 was so good (perfect) and in '81 it was a knocking pinging oil leaking burning puking stalling no-rev gutless pos that didn't last at all. sign of the times i guess

  • @devja71 Thank the liberal tree hugging greenies for detuning and trashing all American motors.

  • @OsbornTramain Not exactly, Ford changed the entire cosmetic design for the 1973 model year, and kept it until the redesign for the 1980 model year. Dodge redesigned these trucks for the 1972 model year I believe, as I owned a 1971 D-100 stepside that was identical (save for the bed) to the adventurer in this commercial. Chevy/GMC redesigned their line for the 1973 model year, and kept it's same design save for minor cosmetic details until 1988, when it went through a complete redesign.

  • @OsbornTramain no chevy redisigned in 1988 i have an 88 and it looks nothing like the 81-87 the 75-80 are identical looking but power varries widely depending on state and level of emissions

  • @amyhuk There were two series of pick up trucks beginning in 1988. One based on the old truck and one based on the new truck. They were completely different. Suburbans continued with the old style from 73 up until 1991, The Blazer SUV also used the old style up till 90. I'm not sure when the 73 pickup was finally elliminated but you are correct and I am wrong, it's not 94 as I stated.....but it didn't end in 88 when the new style was introduced. They ran them in parrallel for a time.

  • @OsbornTramain now that you mention it my buddy had a suburban with the older body style and it was a 90 or 91

  • @OsbornTramain i had a 67 dodge truck for a while. and it had the crazyest air cleaner i ever saw. instead of a paper element you had a round canister with a re usable metal insert and you were supposed to put OIL in it. i have no idea how air was supposed to get to the 2bbl carb. but it had a silver plack saying it had 210 horse power. and it sure felt like it. that little 318 with 2bbl had more power than my chevy 350 with a 4bbl. heck it had more power than my 97 ford with a 5.0

  • The Adventurer was introduced for '68.

  • When American cars were No. 1 in the World! This used to be a hell of a good country!

  • dam stright!!!

  • @brendabaloyan It still is a hell of a good country. We're just loaded up with alot of lousy people.

  • right at :53 the shadow from the camera can be seen at the bottom of the screen

  • If you watch the 62 Imperial Promo I have posted, you can actually see the camera man walking backwards as he moves away from the car in a reflection off the front grill......lol

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 shadow? you can see the WHOLE CAMERAMAN in the bed of the truck at the beginning of the clip

  • i believe this was a concept truck only, as far as I know they weren't mass produced although i could be wrong

  • i think you are wrong..........

  • well they definitely were with the big block engine with dual carbs and cross ram intake, as far as i know they didn't build many with the bucket seats, they just didn't take off. Know a guy who has one, they're extremely rare

  • Oh ok I thought you meant the entire line of trucks that year...........my bad.

  • oh hell no lol the Adventurer trucks are very very rare though

    My dad's got a '69 W-200 the thing is a monster!

  • I would have guessed this is a 1969 commercial, the grille on that truck is a 1970-only grille.

  • Never mind that, i saw a clearer picture and it's a '68 or '69 grille, sorry.

  • My first truck was a 1970 camper special that my dad bought in 1970. I will never forget that old truck.

  • more truck for buck

  • clasicos que no podemos dejar perder gracias OSBORN TRAMAIN!

  • Canyonero...

    Yah!

  • iaaahhh!... *slaps a slave with a whip*

  • I have talked to many dodge truck owners most say older dodge trucks lasted a lot longer and were better built than most chevies and fords.

  • if it was available i`d be surprised, dude. That thing is over 30 years old.

  • Pretty cool. I have a '65 Power Wagon Utiline I'm tinkering with, the thing is a monster. I was about to look into a '05 Power Wagon until I found out they were made in mexico.

  • THat's what I need to be, is a Dodge Adventurer, one who lives a double life... for work & play :)

  • sports car feel?

  • I believe the ad is actually from 1968 or 1969, based on the truck's grille (used only in those two years) and the fact that the Adventurer package was new for '68. And I don't care what they look like, those old Dodges hold up forever.

  • I wonder if a DeSoto Adventurer truck was also available?

  • Nope! They made Desoto trucks here and shipped them overeas, They also made them at plants overseas but never an Adventurer. The did make at least one Desoto Sweptside truck with fins in 1957. I own a 1956 Desoto thruck
