  • Sutherland's monologue here was beyond Oscar worthy. Fuck hollywood !!!

  • Donald sutherland gave a badass performance in this one.

  • Prouty appeared at the National press club with Stone for the movie.

  • The film is more about the ideology than the absolute truth. This, in itself, is what the constitution is there to protect. Freedom of speech and the right to argue a point, regardless of whether it's bound by fact or defined by truth.

I think the fundamental issue of this clip, and its resonance in the film as a whole, is to get the audience to ask the question 'why?'

It made me think, when i first saw it, and made me read up on the JFK conspiracies. I don't believe in a lone gunman.

    Do You?

  • Worked on a show about 5 years ago in Dallas that did a lot of shooting at the LasColinas studios. They still had the Oval Office set there that was used in these scenes. We also shot for a day in the courtroom where Jack Ruby was tried.

Don't know what it was, but every time I drove by or went to Dealey Plaza, my stomach would tighten up - just a strange vibe about the whole place, the whole rotten thing.

  • and Jackie is complice too.He was infidel to her then she helped to murdered him with tha cia seret service johnson onassis and steel industry!!She also is complice of assassination of Bobby Kennedy! He knew too. This woman was liar!!

  • i have that book.

  • - Even if none of it's true-The story makes so much sense it makes the work worthwhile.History proves PeopleInPower must be scrutinized carefully & changed often-just like diapers. Many of us are victims of GoodParenting & BadParenting in that we are quick to Deify or Villify Authority. Also, we are easy to mislead regarding how much danger we CAN avoid, how much protection is prudent. & how much Licence&Resorce we should grant in that regard.*TRUE-There IS a Bear in the Woods" - - - B U T !

  • @isaysee 'Even if none of it's true -The story makes so much sense it makes the work worthwhile'; I've just seen this (part of your) comment - that kind of says what I think.

  • Search - The New York Times, October 3, 1963 "The Intra-Administration War in Vietnam" by Arthur Krock This article is a cherry on top to this clip.

  • i know reality is rough tosh

  • I love this film, but it's complete tosh!

  • @321bytor - Since when must one SAY the truth to TELL the truth - - - - Did Dali, VanGogh - etc, have to show the truth to see the truth ?

  • @isaysee You have a point about artistic revelation and comment on the world and what it's like to live in...and subjective experience; that's what I like about the film, the 'feeling' it gives. The things it says happened are, I repeat, tosh.

  • @321bytor - Aspire to objectivity as we may, - All experience is subjective.. For all you know It's all a dream and your the dreamer. Anyhooo,- Stone did one hellov'a job and I bet he pushed himself to agony trying to make it to his own satisfaction.. Wonder how he feels bout it today ? - Also wonder if "tosh" means what it sounds like and weither or not you are heavilly invested in the DefenceIndustry. Anyhoohoo,- Best'a Luck to you... Live long & prosper. [ maybe we'll know more in 18yrs]

  • that dude was no fletcher prouty.

  • Lbj was miserable as vice President. On Nov 22 that all changed.

  • -Donald Sutherland is extraordinary !!!

  • 911 was the sacrifice to the god of war. America is now one with the corpo-military beast. Freewill is an illusion in America now. It always was .

  • it's an entertaining movie, but it isn't reailty. All of garrison's work was discredited by the evidence BEFORE this $50 million movie was made.

  • :):):):)YO YOU WANT TO SEE MORE THEN TYPE spyderchannel THEN GO TO THE RED SPIDER:):):):):)

  • BIG MONEY BIG MONEY HUGE---I unloaded $400million once crisp and clean bills with DELTA Airlines---- nothing compared to that one ARMY weapons show...good god just one or two Helicopters and aircraft weapons...missles and RADAR systems

  • Mr. X, Gen. Y, anonymous men in smoke-filled rooms. It's so much easier to spin a tail of conspiracy with unknown actors. Once you add the who, you'll need the what, when, where, why, and how. That's a lot of pieces to string together. Rather than accomplish this dauting task, Oliver Stone cuts right to the chase by saying - explicitly, in this scene, and by means of Donald Sutherland - that only the "why" matters. Forget all the other stuff, too many facts to account for.

  • @RenShiWu Mr X was Col Fletcher Prouty and General Y was General Ed Lansdale.Prouty insists that Lansdale is photographed in Dealey Plaza on 11-22-63 and that the Oswald scenario was Lansdale's specialty.

  • This is a very powerful movie and this is an amazing scene, but this film is fiction. Oliver Stone himself calls it his "Alternative myth" to The Warren Commision. So many Americans accept this film as the gospel truth without knowing anything about the case. I find that very frightening. I've found that most CTers have never even read the Warren Report.

  • @399er People want to believe Stone's movie for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the two major reasons are;

    1. Conspiracies are much more interesting to consider and discuss. People have a natural inclination to lend credibility to the notion that events are influenced by an invisible "them".

    2. People are lazy and won't bother to take the initiative to perform some simple research. We're a nation that wants to be entertained first and informed factually last. It's easy to sit and watch a film

  • @399er that's 99% baloney. And it's too much work and a bother to inform yourself and become enlightened.

Stone appeals to our weaker angels and creates a product that's controversial (that means lots of free press) and create a venue where the conspiracy kooks can spout their nonsense. The unwitting and uninformed fall prey to their repeated accusations of "conspiracy" and begin to believe the conspiracy propaganda.

Eventually, Stone's move will be discovered as a fraud and a fiction and the

  • @399er new believers of conspiracy will feel used and duped. "JFK' will eventually be classified as a "Comedic Fiction" when the new believers discover the fraud Stone perpetuated. Lies and fakery usually disguise themselves in a "cloak of truth". In this case Stone not only deliberately deceives the audience, but he gets paid for doing so.

  • Many believe that Ruth & Michael Paine were cia associates who helped plant Oswald as the patsy in the JFK murder.Michael Paine worked for Bell Helicopter Company in Fort Worth under Walter Dornberger.Of course Bell proffited large sums of money during the vietnam war.

  • Garrison,(Costner) says "the size of this is beyond me". Im afraid it may be beyond us all. What can people do about the shit that goes on in this country? They always said that the peoples greatest weapon was the vote, but we all know thats bullshit. It doesnt matter who you vote for or what party, nothing changes. When the President can be killed in broad daylight, surrounded by hundreds of people and the killers go scott free, what can ordinary people do?

We're all just along for the ride.

  • @53lincoln You are right. It doesnt matter who gets elected because "certain people" own everything and control everything.JFK is a good example of what happens if you things for regular people and dont let them control you.And they did it in public one block from police headquarters, maybe to send a message.

  • @themeaningoflife38 Hello, thanks for the reply. Yes i thought about that too. It seems to me that if you wanted to kill the President, you would consider doing it on the sly, not in broad daylight during what amounted to a parade. Its like they wanted everybody to see it.

  • @53lincoln

I believed they did. Keep in mind this was the most public assassination in HISTORY

and that's a tough list to be at the top of....... =(

  • General Charles Cabel was Deputy CIA Director for 9 years. He was fired by JFK after the Bay of Pigs. His brother Earl Cabel was Mayor of Dallas in 1963.

Mr. X was Col Fletcher Prouty, General Y was Edward Lansdale.

Read Prouty's book "The Secret Team" it's free online

  • @themeaningoflife38

    Thanks ;)

    Saludos

    Daniel

  • @themeaningoflife38 Hi. In the scene where X is coming back from Antarctica and in New Zealand where he reads details about Oswald before they were known to Dallas authorities, do you know if X's story about the descrepancy between New Zealand and Dallas time zones and publishing details about Oswald is true? I know X's character is based on Fletcher Prouty and I have Prouty's book. But to date I've found nothing in it which substantiates X's story.

  • @bapyou Yes it is true. There are interviews with Prouty here in YouTube where he talks about reading the newspaper in New Zealand.

  • @themeaningoflife38 Hi. Thanks for answering. I don't mean to beat the same question, but, in the interview, does Prouty specifically address the question of time with respect to the New Zealand newspaper? That's the most important point X makes in the sequence: the New Zealand newspaper published details about Oswald hours before the Dallas police made them public.

Do you have a title for that interview?

  • @bapyou It was like 4 hours before Oswald was charged in Dallas the NZ newspaper had a front page story with a photo of Oswald and his entire background.Try searching youtube for Prouty interviews.

  • @themeaningoflife38 Hello, yes, I've looked at a few Prouty interviews on You Tube already, but no mention of New Zealand. In which interview/video does he speak about New Zealand?

  • @themeaningoflife38 Thanks for the info.

  • "They'da killed you already, but you got a lotta light on you!"

  • u guys should take a look at the back story in call of duty-black ops. this is pretty deep shit for kids. i doubt they even know what it's all about.

  • Because Kennedy was a Communist

  • Thanks for the English version of this clip.

  • Sutherland's 'superior officer', depicted in silhouette at 4.46 and with his name obscured on the desk at 4.48, is Major General Edward G. Lansdale.

  • JFK II: The Bush Connection Part 5/10

  • James Files shot JFK from the grassy knoll,LHO never shot anybody!

  • @nicenonya3 HE WAS JUST A PATSY!!!!!

  • @ToxicMayo9 you gotta love these "lone nutter" aka CIA tools, that live on these JFK videos

  • wake up you proles!

  • They didn't want a Kennedy dynasty. They couldn't risk Bobby winning in '68.

Bobby knew too much and he was going to reinvestigate his brother's murder.

Yeah, General Y (Londsdale) ran The Zenith Project but the rouge rebels (anti

Castro Cubans) wouldn't act on orders from Lonsdale or anyone else in the CIA

unless Bobby gave them the go-ahead first. It drove the CIA crazy and Jack and Bob wanted to invade Cuba in the fall of '63.

  • @bucknorm Interesting theory based on nothing.

  • Great actor.

  • ...raises some good questions..

  • Fletcher Prouty was way out in left field. He's got zero credibility in my book.

  • If any nay-sayer on here does not believe in the FACTS as told by Mr X via Col. Prouty, I would direct you to view a documentary called 'Virtual JFK", then come back on here and say that what Mr. X states is bs...Irish!

  • @Whisper2771 Thank you for making an intelligent comment on this subject. Some of the nay-sayers on here are self-righteous with delusions of grandeur.

  • great scene but such BS...

  • great scenes!!

  • like cesar he is surrounded by enimies man thats deep the theroy in general is just unbleivable just like ferrie say a puzzle wrapd in a question inside an enigma

  • As old as the Crucifixion.

  • Scene stealing performance by Donald sutherland And one of the most powerful scene's in movie history saw this film years ago and this is the scene that really lingers in the memory long afterwards sutherland should have got an oscar nomination for best supporting actor "politics is power nothing more" so true.

  • Interersting whne he tells Garrison that he would be dead already but there is too much light on hm, so they will try to character aSSASINATE HIM:

now looks at Julian Assange and how the dark forces in the US governemnt went after him with their bs "rapist story".......they did the same thin in Iraq with the run up to the Gulf War....with Valerie Plame

  • Like Caesar, he is surrounded by enemies. Something's underway, but it has no face. Yet everybody in the loop knows.

  • Politics is power. Nothing more.

  • HIstory here. .. Jack kennedy was upset because of the CIA .. Cuba ..Mongoose ..Cuba Exiles..

  • Oliver Stone's conspiracy theory is crap, but this scene is dramatically and filmically brilliant. Donald Sutherland blows Kevin Costner off the screen.

  • @gulshabbo

Hahaha man I TOTALLY agree. Oswald killed Kennedy....alone. But this scene always gives me goosebumps.

I do agree with Sutherland/X on the hawkish U.S. foreign policy part though.

  • @AntonBatey I share you view of our hawkish foreign policy, and it is important to remember that Kennedy was one of the hawks.

  • @gulshabbo

Absolutely! I agree with Noam Chomsky, that Kennedy was essentially no different from any President in terms of U.S. foreign policy. I made a few videos about JFK and Cuba and Vetnam, if you're interested at all.

  • @gulshabbo Grow up.

  • Ask yourself why liberals are always killed....JFK, Bobby Kennedy, MLK.....dark forces at work

  • 0:42

  • say for instance the shooting was called off or they or he missed. what is the worst that would have happend to this country if kennedy would have lived and stayed president for another term then his brother in 68? and the troops was brought home like kennedy promised and vietnam never happend? would we have gone through a depression of some sort? did the war help our economy or the militaries economy more? i know lots of lives was lost during that time just for watching a parade. sad but true.

  • I wish I could understand this stuff better and wasn't so simple-minded in terms of politics, but I think some of this stuff is at least halfway true. Kennedy didn't want Vietnam and Johnson did. As for the Iraq war, I think a lot of it was so Halliburton was going bankrupt and have their subsidiary companies such as KBR and Flour make money. But keep the soldiers on the front lines poor and uneducated.

  • He FUCKED us in LOAS and he is going to FUCK us in GODDAMN VIETNAM

  • America is still america today, kill anyone the dislike including its own citizens. You make me SICK

  • KGB cia military

  • Can somebody pleeeeeeeeeaaaaasee tell me the name of the music that begins at 1.10? I have been searching for this haunting track for years. It is also reprised at the end credits. But there does not appear to be any mention of it in them. I absolutely love this piece. Is it available anywhere?

  • @philster61 The soundtrack is no longer sold but it was track 15 on the CD and it was called "Arlington." There is a Youtube video and I tried to paste the URL but it wouldn't let me. Sorry.

  • @cciccone61 Ive tried searching for it on itunes but its not on the track listing. I am amazed that it isn't there. To me its thematic of the movie itself. Thanks for that cciccone. I will see if its available 2nd hand on Amazon. My sincerest thanks for that. I love that piece of music. Its haunting.

  • @philster61 You're welcome. I found it by using the following search term on You Tube: "JFK Soundtrack Track 15 Arlington". Doesn't solve the whole issue but at least you can listen to it on youtube.

  • @philster61 I erred. The search term is: JFK Soundtrack Track 15.0

  • @cciccone61 No problem cciccione. I have bought the CD off Amazon. I am awaiting delivery. Thanks so much for pointing out which track it was. I have been searching or this track for years. My sincerest gratitude

  • @philster61 Arlington by John Williams

  • great movie to goof on, feries wig and tommy lee is funny as hell yelling "frankie" but mostly hollywood fiction , there was no mr x , garrisson had no case and knew it , niether the us mob or cia or castro had any extreme need to kill jfk , bay of pigs and the missle crisis was over, as for the mob it was always buisness as usual and the cia didn`t need that caos , it was oswald alone , as boring as it seems

  • "...And since when has the Mafia used anything but 38's for hits up-close!"

  • "the truth is on your side, bubba", what does that mean? is it related with Garrison being from Louisiana?

  • When I first saw this movie in 1992 I beleived everything in it.....and then I grew up.

  • @Zoetrope77

Did you get a job with Northrop Grumman? Boeing? Blackwater? KBR?

  • Mr. X is the man.

  • ye money war land power!

  • In that document... lay the Vietnam War.

  • "no war, no money" so true and powerful

  • @wertor666

That should SOOO be on a T-shirt!!!!

  • Whether the assassination was a conspiracy or not this is still a very POWERFUL movie. The scene with Mr. X is one of the best of all time. Mr. Sutherland should have got an oscar for his brief(but powerful) role.

  • @rich5248

Between that part and the "magic bullet" telling, are my favorite parts of the movie.

  • @rich5248 you give people oscars for acting, not the words an actor is told to repeat. Even if he is perfect for this brief role.

  • @rich5248 , Donald is such an underrated actor. He's one of my favorites ... that same year, he was in Backdraft too and I enjoyed his character.

  • @rich5248 Stone was right on the money. I say that having held in my hand material 'evidence' RE: the murder of JFK. It was supervised in the field by E. Howard Hunt (watergate) and George H.W. Bush otherwise called Bush Sr. Murder of JFK was a coup d'etat! The government has been illegitimate since that date. Motives: big oil's oil depletion allowance, FED, CIA et al --all formed an alliance to murder the man who threatened to destroy their RAPE of the U.S.

  • @rich5248 Agreed!

  • @rich5248 .. so true sir... Sutherland DESERVED the Oscar for that small seen.... he was amazing... he made it the scariest scene in film history to me.

  • @rich5248 Nice. I totally agree; this scene is pure movie drama magic. And Donald Sutherland was awesome in this scene

  • Col. Fletcher Prouty.

  • X is L Fletcher Prouty.

  • Jfk one of the best movies of all the times great edition and assembly the critiques on a possible conspiracy in the death of jfk cannot cover the perfection of this movie Directed masterfully by oliver stone

  • how much of what mr. x is saying is true???

  • oh, now that is what I have wondered for 18 years. how much indeed.

  • At first, Costner's character is wondering if Mr. X is just pulling his leg; he's not really taking Mr. X seriously.

Then, starting at about 1:06, Mr X mentions *Operation Mongoose*, which Costner's character has heard mentioned by other people.

At this point, we now see Costner's character suddenly begin to take Mr. X very seriously.

  • Jack Bauer's father :)

  • Johnson was facing a probable murder trial, he was to be left off the ticket on the '64 election. He was owned like Kennedy but different camps. All games no such thing as rep or dem all controlled. I seriously think the FED bankers had him doen in by these shooters as a dversion so we ask Cubans or CIA? i think it was bankers paying CIA to do it and why not? A lot of money to be lost and money is power, if JFK abolished the FED like he wanted there would be a power struggle.

  • oooooohhh! now i know why presidents have to always wage some sort of war or another, because they will KILL you if you dont.

Now i understand why Obama is pushing AF PAK so hard

  • Loved this scene but I've often wondered how much of this movie was based on fact and how much was speculation. The doctor who attended JFK at Parkland wrote a book in '92 saying that the throat wound was an entrance wound & when Oliver Stone was filming the movie, the doctors who had worked at Parkland were told not to talk with him. Read the book, "Conspiracy of Silence," great stuff. I doubt anyone will ever know what happened on 22 Nov 63, there's such conflicting information.

  • Very good performance Donald, very good.

  • This film is very loose with the facts. The release of the Pentagon Papers showed that Kennedy had every intention of going to war in Vietnam.

  • Lies --- yours, not Stone's.

The film is closer to the truth than its endless detractors would have one believe.

  • perhaps that was forgery

  • The pentagon also claims it was hit by a jumbo jet on 9/11. Yet the pentagon refuses to release the video of this. Why? And then when they did release a few frames... no jet can be seen. The government is always keeping shit secret from the people, even in situations where you would think they have nothing to hide. They're all a bunch of liars and crooks. Every war is a bunch of bullshit wrapped up in a cute exterior for the public to buy in to.

  • well put

  • @martinez85 I've seen the images of the pathetically small initial hole in the side of the Pentagon. The 911 *producers* then likely realized that no one would buy that a jet had created the little hole, so they blasted out a larger section of the building. But, still, the width of the new hole wasn't big enough to match the plane's wingspan,

Those who pulled off this huge shenanigan as a real attack were clever, but not clever enough. As long as war is profitable, these things may happen

  • @selatik1 I find it amusing that 911 conspiracy nuts always tend to leave out one small detail. There were a dozen witnesses who seen the jet, including reporters. The hole was large enough for the main bulk of the aircraft, while the extremities of the plane at that speed likely telescoped in or fragmented due to the lightness of the material (aluminium, etc). The only shenanigans pulled are by the producers of that stupid film Loose Change with it's half truths, misquotes and downright lies.

  • @CmdrX3 Witnesses can be purchased or coerced. "3 shots!! You heard THREE SHOTS!! That's ALL we're willing to say!" --from the movie, *JFK*)

Only a dozen witnesses watching a jet slam into the Pentagon? C'mon!

Furthermore, the initial hole was far too small to look credible, so they later blasted out a larger section and threw a few pieces of fake wreckage around for added realism. WHAT A JOKE!! I can't believe the American public bought this B.S.!! Wait a minute, yes, I CAN!

  • @CmdrX3

Bush is elected in 2000.Vote Fraud in Florida(Jeb Bush is governor) 911 we are attacked. Exactly 10 years after Bush Sr. made his NWO speech. After 911 we start an unwinnable war. A war against an emotion. The war on terror is the last war the NWO needs. They will eliminate all religious extremists, all military or citizen rebels. Anyone who doesnt fit in the economic plans of the future. Keep watching your American Idol and listening to your ipod. And pay your taxes. Go democracy!

  • @Jononutoob - C'mon - Vote Fraud, seriously. You'd think if they were going to defraud the voting system they would ensure they were enough votes clear to avoid the need for a recount, the court cases and the whole furore that followed. I seem to recall that the majority of Americans were quite happy to see their troops charge in, guns blazing in the usual American we'll kick their asses mentality.

  • Comment removed

  • @martinez85 Absolutely. Even more incredible, why did the Pentagon instantly round up ALL of the nearby surveillance cameras + tapes from surrounding businesses that may have captured something from the Pentagon incident? Years and years later, they release 3 frames of footage which literally show nothing lol. It will never come to light because simply put, the public would rather absorb the lie than face the truth. it's just too big a pill to swallow so they live in the matrix.

  • I love this movie! Jim Marrs, the author of the book this movie is based upon, has some very good theories on the assasination. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever know for sure what happened to our last "real" president.

  • Johnson had Kennedy killed. (I think)

  • Johnson (who was in serious legal troubles which attyorney general Bobby refused to put the lid on) greenlighted a plot involving Texas oil and defense contractors (who dictated CIA policy) and the CIA, with the mob doing some of the foot work and Hoover's FBI feeding manipulated data to a receptive Warren Commission.

In 1963, the key men in these groups were a very tight circle (half of them literally vacationed together).
