linux does the same thing as windows + much more+free programs+compiz+no viruses. windows = viruses+ pay for programs+crashes+blue screen+headaches+ugly user interface
You are right, and people like supercamelsam are idiots.
This video didn't tell me anything. I recently jumped to ubuntu(but still using windows for a large range of software) and the first thing i did was be sure all of that crap was turned off so i could see what linux was about when it comes to functionality and ability for the distro i have.
I'm interested in Mint but these video's aren't helping.Video walkthroughs would be nice. Show me the features/options/functionality.
are you kidding me? and i dont care that i'm late. these videos are just made as teasers. i orgininally saw one a few months ago and became interested in ubuntu, so i went to find out more information. i didnt go looking for it on youtube though, i went to forums, official websites, and googled 'walkthroughs' and 'reviews'.
these eye candy videos work because they bring people who dont know much and shock them because they've never seen it before. it brings smart windows losers to linux
why would anyone want ubuntu based system ? My ubuntu install recently fucked itself up: did an update and the wifi, sound card weren't detected anymore, and the cideo driver was fucked up

@reine00x: Isn't linux mint ubuntu-based as well? >But if this video is "out-of-the-box"gui then it's stunningly pretty
buchalterN 4 years ago
Yep, mint is based on Ubuntu. And AFAIK you have to manually turn on these effects.

@ option man: This is linux with beryl installed by default. This is not available for windows or mac.
I use mint myself, it's what ubuntu should have been.

wow this is realy nice do they have this for windows XP
optionman 4 years ago
why do you want it on xp? get Linux, its much better and free. Or get vista if you need to stick with windows.
