@Ugerflagle I agree. He needs to hit flatter shots than he does now (especially off his forehand) and also go for sharper angles and more depth in his shots. It seems like all he does now is roll the ball back to the middle of the court waiting for his opponent to make a mistake. After 2005 his forehand which used to be one of the best in the world become only a mediocre forehand and his strategy went from baseline attack to counter-punching which doesn't suit his abilities at all.

By FAR AND AWAY the best Grand Slam of 2009, it had the Nadal vs. Verdasco, Gonzalez vs. Gasquet, Federer vs. Nadal, Murray vs. Verdasco and if your a Federer fan Federer vs. Del Potro was a great performance from Federer. The Roland Garros had no great matches. Wimbledon had Murray vs. Wawrinka and Roddick vs. Federer was about it. The US Open had some good matches but Nadal played his best early on and got injured, Federer was petulant at best in final and all but threw the Title away.
