I prefer to play leaners as 2 points. i recommend this rule, because leaners add an entire new strategy to the game, if your opponent throws first and has one on, will he throw away to preserve the ringer, or go for the ringer risking the leaner? then, your strategy becomes to attempt to knock that leaner down at all costs! so much more fun, because it doesnt happen often, but when it does is cause for excitement.

Actuall rules. Ringer 3 if opponent tops it it's cancelled out. Leaner is 1 but you measure from where the shoe is touching the ground to the pin! So you can still sneak in and steal from a leaner. All other points are at least a shoe away from the pin to be considered a point. 1 team gets points at a time

We play like this: If I get a ringer its 3 but if my opponent gets a ringer I don't get the points and he gets 6. and for 1 pointers whoever gets closest to the pin gets the point.

Sorta weird way, but it sounds fun. We usually give no points if 2 or more people get ringers.

1 point for leaners!??? Dude, leaners are harder to make than ringers. We still count 'em as 2 here in N.Cali just 'cause they rarely happen anyway.
