sabian is for generaly more hard hitters, if you have noticed most of the notable players in Metal play sabian. Jazz people usualy play Zildjian. Paiste again has a more rock majority, now im not saying zildjian has no rockers and sabian has no jazz players, just each lean a certain way.

@daswerve1 Who invented the B20 bronze for a cheap price? Who invented three layers of B8 sheets to make the Chopper? Who invented the O-Zone design? Who made the first cymbal with a pinpoint lathe? Who invented the Duo cymbal? Who started working with the unlathed bells? I can keep on going, but I think I made my point. And if you're not convinced, the sound convinces me at least.

If some of you don't know the founder of this cymbal company is a Zildjian.

Robert Zildjian son of Avedis Zildjian III is the guy behind Sabian, and very few people know that. So both Zildjian and Sabian are the same thing, both of the people making these cymbals use the same "secret". Kinda funny huh I know. And the president of Sabian right now is Andy Zildjian, the youngest son of Robert.

I'm a Sabian guy for sure! in the beginning I was also into Mike Portnoy, and I still am. and when it comes to sabian, I've never heard a better cymbalsound from any other cymbal manufactor. I've even had guys come up to me and say something like "That was probably the best china I've ever heard", and stuff like that. I could hit my 19" Paragon for hours and not get bored!
