We need to prove Islam and science are intertwined and cannot be seperated. That education augments iman and that religion isn't only for blind followers and laymen. We need a systematic and proffessional and scholarly approach to refuting all scientific attacks on Islam. Also with this knowledge we can serve the ummah at large and equip our people with the technology they need to not rely on the kuffar.

I can't urge my brethren enough to learn Islam along with another field of knowledge.

Education is VERY important. We need young muslims to join the ranks of the scientists and people of knowledge once more. Why? Not just for technology and the dunya, but to prove this religion true without a doubt! You ask a physicist who has an understanding of space and time that Most Muslims don't have if he believes in God what do you think he'll say?
