@MSAlex23 K. Down is when the fighter falls on the ground but stands up and continue fighting. K.O. (Ipon in Kyokushin) is when the fighter cannot continue fighting because of taking a too hard punch, kick or losing consciousness. Sorry for bad english
I don't understand why kurbanov don't go in K1 , because he have alot of power and he have punch, uppercut, kick? He just have to train boxing counter and defence. If he have a good chin, i think he could have good result,...same thing for teixeira. (but maybe thy are too small to compete with giant like semmy?). They are 2 great fighter.
for some lame reasons the IKO doesnt let its members fight in professional payfights. A lot of the old fighters got banned out of the IKO for this reason. Like Andi Hug was originally from kyokushin then went Seidokaikan n eventually K1.
That mongolian K1 max fighter was originally from IKO and got in trouble after the IKO found out.
I think Kurbanov loves Kyokushin karate too much, thats y he dont participate in paid fights unless he get permission from the IKO Honbu. Love 4 the Art vs Money
I was there.. he was to confident, like he had the tournement in his hand. He is a very good fighter but I didn't like is attitude. I can tell he was so surprised when this happened to him, alse he was dizzy for a while. The kick from the other was very strong even that is not look so.
what? not so hard ? the thing is the mawashi geri to the neck is the most strike that is likely to end a fight, an absolute ko , its very hard to execute because is must me perfectly horizontal , not as easy as it looks
oh man, i wasn't expecting this. He really was too confident to have his guard that loose. He needs to improve his defense. Just look at his arms so low. He should have kept his guard high.
I know this guy who knocked Lechi down ... He lives in my town in Siberia, Ilya Karpenko

It was a knock down not a knock out. But still a good example for Lechi to be more attentive.

Lechi was partially to blame for being so lax,but the referee should have awarded a wazari rather than an ippon .

That's knock down, but not a knock out!
That happened because of the distance.

Lechi was very well prepared for this tournament, but he was TOOOOO confident, and got sloppy.

Aaaah. Shame. The kick didn't even look so hard. Anyway, hope for a rematch.
