It was the visual aspect that kept The Woodlands out of the top half of BOA finals in '09. They were 3rd place in music performance, 6th place in music GE (I probably would have placed them a little higher in this category), 9th place in visual performance, and 9th place in visual GE. It all worked out to a 7th place finish overall.
I think they did deserve a higher place than 7th. Honestly I had them 5th. I think tone quality brought them down. They still deserved at least 5th though. But results were tight, and maybe it was caused by a flawed BOA judging system. But this was probably my favorite show to watch, there were so many cool things about it. Great job again!
This show is sweet. Yall were kind of our band rivals when I was in high school, and I'm proud of yall.
The drum speak was my favorite part, when we did it in bluecoats 05 I thought it was the worst part of the show. Yall were like bluecoats 05 on steroids
@MassacrMan I went to James Bowie HIgh in Austin. But I quit band my senior year. I couldn't stand the jealousy I was receiving from a lot the band members (and section leaders) since I did drum corps that summer and the band techs kept using me as an example for "how to do things correctly." I'm glad I quit because I picked up guitar and piano, and I wouldn't be making music today if I hadn't.
i watched you guys online at boa and i liked you guys way better than marcus carmel and broken arrow but avon ld bell and marian catholic all had really stong shows but you guys in my opinion sholda at least placed top 5 if not 4th amazing show :)
Great show!! Absolutely loved it! Great music and very innovative. This show definitely should have been ranked higher at nationals. Fantastic job though.
You guys were my favorite marching band at BOA. Haha only band I stood up for when we were applauding. Really nice job, if only our high school were as good as yours...
We fixed a LOT in parts 1 & 2 during those like 20 hours of practice in Indy... parts 3 and 4 are really great here though... I am proud nevertheless <3

I remember watching this after we preformed and was in awe of how incredible y'all sounded. Great show!

Unfortunately, the guard in this band is tragic! That kept you from placing higher in my opinion

Where is this music from? As in, who's the original composer? I'm sure it's from a really good Classical Piece.

This show was amazing. My band made finals so I couldn't see this live, but I wish there was a way I could've done both!

Favorite part
- @2:00 through dance, closer
The beat at 2:03 is seductive.

Ya this show made way more sense than Rhapsody, very entertaining and a pretty sure 3rd place show, but apparantly the judges didn't agree
puzzlepiratesman 2 years ago
Judges in finals for some odd reason always have nearly completely different views that judges from prelims and semis.

I agree. I was expecting you guys to be in a brawl with Bell and Marcus for silver and bronze. I think you guys should have made at least 5th or 4th.

I just now noticed that the 'alternates' in the back actually come out and march during the closer. Pretty cool. Awesome show, I loved seeing it.
