Mathematical proof:

Let's say the two digits are a and b.

Each two-digit number will then be 10a+b.

when you add the two numbers you get a number that wheen taken away by the original number it equals a multiple of 9. 45 = 4+5 = 9 a multiple of 9 and now with 46 you increase the beggining number by 1 however you increase the 'subtraction' number by 1 so this makes no overall difference. e.g. 44 = 4+4=8 44-8 = 36

mismag822 please dont be angry but I have to tell it. If you pay attention you will see that there are various AKs. If you choose a # from 10-19 then the final number will be 9. If you choose a # from 20-29 the answer will always be 18. for 30-39 it is 27, and so on. And i guess that if you choose a number from 0-9 then it's 0 which is not AK so you win. :)
