I used an old Sony DV video camera in a Top Dawg housing.
As far as an underwater camera goes, it all depends on how much money you want to spend. You can go simple or you can go really fancy. I would suggest starting off with a sealife camera. They are simple to use, relatively cheap, and take great photos. Just do some research and I'm sure you will find a camera that fits your needs.
i will be there next weekend..diving vortex springs then over to morrison..then going wreck diving and spearfishing in the ocean. what type of camera did you use in this? what would you recommend for beginner at underwater photography?
@vtex85 Try starting out with a used Canon or Olympus off of Amazon or Ebay for 100 bucks, then get an underwater housing for it for another $100-$200.
Don't forget that you'll need a computer capable of editing video. Non-HD video from a point-and-shoot can be done on an average computer/laptop with Windows Movie Maker, but the newer HD cameras will need a little more power behind it or editing will be frustrating.
