HPI Savage X 4.6 vs Traxxas Nitro Rustler

I have a jato 3.3 and a savage 4.6.. The only big issue with a jato/rustler style car is the tires.. If you can keep the savage from poppin wheelies it can win.. Unless the guy with the jato/rustler is the worlds best rc pilot.. Change the tires on the jato you get better grip but it's going to wheelie it's way into a storm drain.. That and the savage takes MUCH more abuse.

lol i got a nitro sport se which is just like the rustler and i just got a savage 4.6 today lol when i compare them i thank the savage is better but my sport is faster on the road. my savage does 48mph and the se does 58mph but im not up for the speed i just want to race cars down my road. haha its great

ok i wasnt sure. i think i might have been lookin at the savage XL specs. i am really wanting this truck. was break in and tuning fairly easy and quick?

Break in and tuning on a big block engine like this takes a lot of patience. Just getting this thing started the very 1st time took about 30 mins for me.. but other peeps may have been able to get it started much easier. I just got back about an hour ago running two more full tanks through it for about a total of 7 tanks now and it runs great.

Nice buddy! I have a X 4.6 too, it got muddy for its very first time yesterday. This thing has some very retarded power for offroading, its very refreshing from driving my 1/8th scale racers. You got any upgrades? I am being sent a free BUKU exhaust ($110 dollar value, search bukupower on google) since I write reviews for a RC site. I also have a Spektrum DX2.0, the Ofna throttle mod, and a Futaba S9451 for my throttle and a Hitec 5955TG for steering. KEEP BASHIN!

My guess would be to simply remove the fuel tank from the vehicle and flush it out with water, let it dry and then reinstall it back into the rusty.
