I know. I remember watching the end of the third series and when the credits were rolling, the BBC announced a new series the following year but it never happened.

Oh, well. At least we had the live shows.

Probably for the best. The 3rd series was considerably weaker than the classic 1st and 2nd series. By then the live shows were also caught in a downward spiral - after the brilliant 1st live tour, none of the subsequent tours lived up to it - which was another strong indication that the concept had worn thin.
