  • @Moriachik k soz was in that movie ['caanibal holocaust'] dont watch it

  • I have had this goddam dystonia conversion disorder for ten years and the doctors cant explain it for the simple reason the science is not advanced enough to know what is happening they are befuddled and have crackpot theories, none of which really says anything except that they presume too much, anyone who has a genuine case of this realises how inadequate any treatment is, science will find out one day and make the stupid theories look stupid. there is a physical cause for this despite them.

  • When I [cry] my psychogenic seizures disappear!

  • I'm part of NEAD Trust a reg UK charity (the only reg charity) for sufferers, families and carers of Non Epileptic seizures.

We have hundreds of members worldwide on our secure free forum.

All of our information is verified by specialist neurologists, and psychotherapists who specialise in treatment of this condition.

We are here to help everybody who is affected by this condition.

Google NEAD TRUST for our help!

    Take care

  • How can psychological factors cause seizures? I am not distinct from my brain, I am my brain and my body. Therefore if I have seizures or events resembling epileptic seizures then they must be due to a malfunction in the brain or the body. To think otherwise is just cartesian dualism. Just because it doesn't show up on an EEG- which only measures seizures on the surface of the brain does not mean there is not another organic cause or deeper more complex seizure patterns.

  • @simonjoverton I agree totally. The PNES craze....and this entire video make me think this is pseudo-science. These are probably actual seizures with actual epileptiform abnormalities that are just not detectable on the scalp electrodes of an EEG. Neurology is still evolving, thus, it is easier to resort to calling these difficult-to-diagnose seizures a PNES and send them to a shrink...to the detriment of the patient. There is a quack in NM that does this, and some have almost died. So sad.

  • I'm so grateful for this video.

All the people who think we are faking need to see this.

  • I'm glad there is someone like you who is trying to help and contribute to educating. Love to see some of My Friends on this Channel, too, esp Kazoom. I think the whole world loves him...! Keep on doing what you are doing! Highest Personal Regards, Dr M

  • thank u for this video!!!

  • A lot of theory about repressed emotions etc, but where is the proof. Psychogenic is just another way of doctors saying they don't know what is going wrong, so we'll blame the patient!

  • Converision Disorder is very serious. It's not really something to joke about. I have it. I get these pseudoseizures. The disorder is extremely rare and when this happens to me.. it's not just my arm... it's my whole body. And it's something that just happens. People, like me, with this disorder don't fake it or just want attention. You get this feeling like you are about to die from a seizure meanwhile, in the end, you sleep for a whole day after.. and it goes away.

  • moriachik1, the crux of the matter is the word EPILEPTIC seiz.. PNES IS a medical condition. But it is not epilepsy. Some heart problems can cause epileptiform seiz. - but they're not epileptic. Even epileptics occasionally have a real epileptic seiz. without the disturbed brainpattern that is usual. So this isn't a simple question. It's PNES when there aren't other organic causes to the seiz.. It's easy to diagnose too early and thus harm the patient. Listen around 2.14 and 3.15 in the video.

  • Pseudoseizures are just doctors way of saying they dont know what is causing it and saying its all in your head and that you are just trying to get attention!!!! ive been going thru this for 3 years now@!!!!!

  • Daisy72762, I feel for you. Not a funny thing you have been going through.

PNES is not docs way to say they don't know. Or that you just want attention. There are so many conditions that might cause seiz. (e.g. hypoglycaemia) yet not epileptic ones. Different seiz., diff. treatment. So the docs must find the underlying cause. It was 8 years b4 I myself found the reason why I still had seiz.. Docs didn't. In my case it was due to food intolerance. I was overmedicated and that caused seiz.

  • Real medical conditions will cause a real seizure.

Real seizures are an electrical disturbance in the brain, affecting part of or all of it.

If there is no electrical disturbance, it's not, repeat, NOT a real seizure!!

PNES is either some kind of conversion disorder, or a desperate cry for attention. Ask a doc...

  • @moriachik1 your a fuckwit with too much to say and an arrogant moron but i guess those who have much to do with you already know this, you just carry on believing everything inside your small little brain, your a fucken peice of shit claiming people are seeking attention, its people like you who make people with this disorder suffer you fucking presumptious bigot, you poor cunt, living in your own superior judgemental version of reality, get some bad karma and grow a brain moron.

  • @dreamtime182 >MFW brain size =/= intelligence. GET A BRAINZ MORANS

  • @Moriachik fuck off u you fucken putrid opinionated cunt no substantive contribution or input except ignorant opinions commit suicide or get raped and have your head smashed in with fists and blunt trauma eg rocks hammers etc ... die cunt DIIIEEE hahaa you need it...just joking your a nice person

  • @dreamtime182 IKR?

  • @PersimmonOX ....The doc in little rock,AR. told me that the seizures i have are JUST AS DANGEROUS as an epileptic seizure, and that i am definitely NOT faking in any way! I WISH that there was more public awareness about Pseudoseizures..although i HATE that term!

  • They are still real seizures, just non-epileptic. I was having them when I hit my head on the ice. The seizures can be caused by trauma to the head. I am so much better now!

  • I was just recently kicked in the head by horse and started haveing seizures. the doctors told me i was having pseudoseizures due to anxiaty and stress. Im very afraid of them, the doctors were able to enduse a seizure by haveing me hyperventilate. Now they want me to go see a physcologist and go on meds because they say i have to much stress. PLease tell me do u still have the seizures? and what are u doing to manage them? please write back!!

  • @supchells

My seizures were brought on by my work, where I worked with deceased humans. It stressed me, and on the night of the most gruesome deceased human I had ever seen, I had my first seizure.

My meds control them fairly well, but I still have one every month and a half or so.

    4 years later.

  • @DrFuckingPepper - That's horrific. I'm so sorry you have to go through that. Truly. :(

I only have one question to ask you regarding your seizures... are you able to "fight them back" at times?

  • a Pnes? Like penis?

  • epileptic seizures can show normal on an eeg DURING a seizure. Non-Invasive EEG (no probe stuck down inside the brain) does not show seizures deep inside of the brain. If the seizure does not expand to within the range of the surface probes it will not show up.

Also many seizures on my video eeg were only caught by the computer analysis not the doctors or technicians.

As a result i was for years misdiagnosed and accused by teachers of "faking it".

  • Good point. Problems with subcortical structures could be hard to diagnose and may account for some of the PNES events; they just don't show up with standard EEG diagnostics.

  • What are "adjustment disorders"?

  • pseudoseizures not treated like epilepsy because 1.not responsive to anticonvulsant meds 2.not associated with neuro problem like brain tumor, can't be operated on

3.since underlying cause is psychological requires psych followup.

for person witnessing pseudoseizure, there is not much that can be done, but no risk of seizure becoming 'grand mal' and damaging the brain, nor risk of biting tongue or wetting bed. still there is the risk of injuring oneself during a seizure so just watch out.

  • well then in that case...would this also mean they would treat it as if they were having epellepsy or not?

  • LADjsim: It don't react to epilepsy treatment - that's why it is so important to find out the underlying cause. It can be as serious a disorder as epilepsy and the right diagnosis can pinpoint the right treatment.
