  • I think that maddie from the remake should have been in scariest performences and the top 3

  • Am I the only one that thought the scene at the end of the new movie with the older version of the girl walking away with the snow falling and that song playing was really bleak and a little sad?

  • I would like to say that both films a very much good. The old one is very my like that book on which these two movies are based off of. The problem with the old one was the ending in the book she does loss her arm. The new movie ending in alot like the book but the problem with this one is the plot and how they change things around. But the new one is far better because it show the dark side of what is in to book.

  • i have yet to see the old one, but the remake seemed...short, i hope that it was just cut to ft theatres and has moore on the dv , but it felt kinda like the whole thing was rushed once they started actually chasing him, not that it wasnt enjoyable of course, it was a rqather good movie especially for this day and age

  • True Grit is great!

  • I was born in 1984, and even I can tell that the original was better.

  • ARE U KIDDING ME !!!!!!!! JOHN WAYNE WAS THE BEST ROOSTER SERIOUSLY JEFF BRIDGES WAS GOOD BUT JOHN WAYNE WON AN OSCAR FOR HIS ROLE AND IS BETTER TO ME GGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMN

  • @Austindevine1 I'M TYPING IN CAPS SO THEREFORE I'M RIGHT! Seriously, it's just an opinion. He never tries to pass it off as fact, he makes it clear that this is just his opinion. If you like John Wayne better, like John Wayne better. It makes no sense to throw a hissy fit just because someone disagrees with you.

  • @NY4life It's called having an opinion.

  • The Original is the better version HANDS DOWN!

  • the bear guy made a appearance in red dead redemption

  • The Bear Man should have been a Megaman boss.

  • What is the name of the song they play during the credits?

  • 1969 was better, i dont care what anyone says dammit

  • @TheLastArchdemon if you don't care what anyone says why are you watching this???

  • 'i dont like the way he's pluckin that chicken'

  • Yes, that's how Westerns end, usually with an Orthodox Jew wondering where the wall went off to.

  • thank you for that im of to play red dead redemption now

  • this is a movie about 3 people with true grit. the only way i know to put it. :)

  • how do 3 people not like this!

  • Haha, Critic pulled the same trick he did in his Old vs New Batman review: the deciding factor between which movie had the best side characters wasn't a terribly important character, but a memorable one. Here it's the bear guy, and he gave the point to the original Batman based solely on the fact that it had Bob in it XD

  • Ok this guy is funny and interesting! Good job my Nostalgia Critic Friend!

  • The Bear Guy is an epic win!

  • Wait a minute Nostalgia Critic didn't say why each Cogburn use the eye patch in different eyes. why didn't they use it in the same eye?

  • @ThePulpMot It just looked better on Bridges

  • You just gotta love the remake's soundtrack

  • 1:53 Quats. Those annoying little demons that crawl under your toenail in the commercials for... That foot thing.

  • what was the name of that show in 3:07.

  • @DjDesoe It,s called the tick

  • Mahtt Dahmahn

  • And as always The Critic Abides

  • ass shoes?

  • Maybe Damon was a city boy who went out west to be badass

  • This was a really great review - one of his best I think; he made good arguments in favor of both films and showed that, in reality, it's very difficult to pick which one is better. There were reasons Oscars were on the coat-tails of these two films, and this review gave us a good indication as to why. Well done Nostalgia Critic - keep up the great work!

  • I really thought that the last two points would get the old movie i really liked the older one

  • I dont want to be a dick but.... does Channel Awesome know about this?

  • He raises some good points, but I still prefer the original. And I disagree outright on the ending ... but that's just me. To each their own and all that jazz.

  • Yeah yeah the new shit always smells "better" than the last one

  • LOVE the ending!!!! :D

  • I counted, he made 6 Big Lebowski jokes.

  • @jetdude77 I got 7

  • in ever seen either but i do want to see it

  • The Critic Abides

  • okay since this is a western he should do an old vs new of 3:10 to yuma.

  • i prefer the orginal but he does bring up some good points (i did like the remakes maddie better). but c'mon critic. you cant say the supporting cast is better just bc of the bear guy who is a "big lipped aligator moment". & im surprised he didnt go deeper into matt damons character. i mean he fucking dies........in the original.

  • oh man there is nothing like watching the nastalgia critc to make my shitty day better

  • when the ending song to the remake (the song during the credits in this video) came on, I imagined it slowly cutting to Rooster playing a piano in heavon and hes the one singing the song.

  • I was waiting for one more Big Lebowski joke at the end... damn. But I found the 69 version just kind of well silly in comparison to the new one. He made the right choice.

  • @jaiwook63 Many old westerns are silly. Good men are pure and bad guys are rotten criminals. And the good guys always have better aim and very little blood is shown although special effects do not define a good movie. Same silliness is present in other genre of american cinema as well, WWII movies especially. Think about The Great Escape. It's a fine film, but would the nazis really've been so kind to POW's who have tried to escape so many times and pulled all sorts of tricks?

  • hey man could you maybe start putting an annotation at the end of the videos for the second part? just for convenience.

  • this was good now do an old vs new of nightmare on elm street

  • @halloweenfan92

Too easy. The old one wins easily. The remake sucked balls.

  • yippee-ki-yay, motherf___er

  • The Bear Guy = Guy in Bear suit from The Shining

  • @CCScorseseVideos that actually makes sense

  • @CCScorseseVideos who was the bear on the side of the plane in the twlight zone

  • @CCScorseseVideos It explains the bear suit in the remake of Wickerman

  • @CCScorseseVideos

Nick Cage dressed as a bear in wickerman??

  • @CCScorseseVideos What? Is that a coincidence?

  • I like both movies but the version of 1969 is more emotional in my opinion.

Greetings and thanks for the videos.

  • With all the talk of someone young wanting violence I'm surprised there wasn't a single clockwork orange reference

  • @grievous549 because this was a revenge story, not just hurting people just for the sheer fun of it. HUGE difference. but id love to see him use clockwork references, theyre always welcome

  • i love both movies

  • @NostalgiaCriticFan7

I love both movies too. :D
