It occured to me today that it would be possible to make a 2 or 3 track cam so that adjacent light rods moved completely differently. From what I remember of the video clips I had, the original might have been that way. I was curious whether you are on the builder club site. I was a member for a while but now just a squatter.
The motor seems a bit fast to me. I've also notice that all readily-available cams just alternate the finger lights. I saved some clips from early episodes that show the movement, and it is much more "wiggly" and randomn. I'll be making my own cam shortly - just cut my bubble lift cam today.
@MisterEnd1 yes the motor was too fast but thats been taken care of now with a small speed controller wired up to the torso knob, which means that I can slow it right down to barely moving if I wish. Also I've found that slowing it down makes it quieter too.
As for the cam, well I made my own and this was the first attempt. the profile has been altered a few times to get a smoother action but there is some variation in the 'regularness' of the lifts as it was all done by hand files anyway.
