They weren't interested in doing anything but making music. Hell, Motorhead insists that this is all just rock and roll.

Just because someone plays in a lower tune, growls, wails or sings doesn't make them a new category of music. It's metal. It may not be everyone's taste, but that's the point isn't it?

@77RmX77 Punk itself developed over there years with the likes of the Sex Pistols, the Clash and the Ramones. Bands like Nuclear Assault have strong punk influence but are still referred to as being a metal band. And punk itself is considered a kind of rock.

My main point is the constant subcategorizing is pointless and more inspired by record companies than musicians more often than not. A lot of bands incorporate too many other influences to accurately fit in any one category anyway.

@PunikaTV well, sorry to break it to you but this kind of music was built of the fueds between subgenres. blackened deathmetal like this is a hybrid of two sub genres ( black metal and death metal) which used to fued all the time), so the in fighting between genres in this kinda' music...kinda' just comes with the music. i think it's silly some times, but it also keeps the music alive with each band trying to proove them selves brutaler then the rest.
