Honestly...I got a 710....I lubed it a little bit, Shot it a couple times and the bolt is smooth as butter and the gun is a nail driver.

....I don't know what to really say about people who accuse the gun of being complete crap....maybe it's a luck of the draw type things....or something like that...

Don't ever go with a 710, too damn cheap and clunky. Go with the Rem 700, Rugger m77, savage 110 or CZ 550.

Remington 710 had the WORST action I have ever felt, so I put it back on the shelf and picked up a CZ 550 in 243 winchester :) Nice rifle :)

Hopefully get a 270 in the future :P

Looks like a Remington 710, they dont make that model anymore tho. You should try the 770, they fixed a lot of the 'problems' with the 710 and the 770 is all black. Ima getting one soon :)

It is a Remington 710. You don't want one. The action is junk because the rear section of the receiver is lined with plastic. Plastic against metal is sticky, that's why you will see anyone with a 710 fighting with the bolt. Save yourself some anguish and get a 700.

My deer rifle, seemed like it kicked a lot harder when I was younger but now it feels like it barely kicks.

The first time I shot a 12 guage shotgun, gun jumped outa my hand and I fell on my ass. Now it hardly moves me and I'm only 20 pounds heavier than when I was 16. That's why I learned to shoot every new gun once in the air while holding the rifle-butt under my right arm to get a feel of the kick and sound before putting in front of shoulder and aiming.
