  • Wow! thanx for posting this.

  • will it work for the agp cards for a powermac g4 please help i need an upgrade

  • Hi there'

I need some advice on howto Flash an PC ATI RADEON Graphics card to work on my MacPro 3.1 2.8ghz 8core.

I want to ideally flash a Card that's 1GB or above & that will be fully compatible after it's done on my MacPro.

Advice i need is:- how to go about Flashing it & what i need to do & a few recommendations on what graphics card's that are ok to flash.

If you can help, i would appreciate that very much.

I kindly await your reply on this.

Merry Xmas & Happy Holidays. (",)

  • @babzstar google 'zeus flashing tool' and you'll come across a site with way more information that I could ever give. Plus the tool itself is free to download and pretty easy to use!

  • I have a Lenovo K330 Case

Which high end graphic card can i fit?

  • "...Didn't get ripped off by Apple"?

You bought a mac, of course you got ripped off by apple.

  • Where do I get A rom file?

  • When you boot - using this method do you get a blank screen until the blue screen starts or do you get the normal grey apple etc?

  • I've got a Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 that I am running under boot camp at the moment, but I want to flash it to work under OSX 10.6.6......the ATI flashing tool is discontinued and Zeus doesn't seem to support this yet.

Thoughts? Really want to get this card working under OSX.

  • @clapinc ATIFlash is by NO means discontinued. You'll need to get the DOS version, and flash it using the Ultimate Boot CD. It's tough at first, but it is fairly easy once you get used to it.

  • I can put my old card in another port to see desktop when going back to snowleopard? or do I need an iPhone with that portal app? think I read there may be issues while flashing with multiple cards maybe you know.

  • is this the same procedure for a PowerMac g5? I need a new graphics card, but the "mac" cards for them are extremely expensive. thanks.

  • hey, does the 4890 make motion 3 move much faster than the 4870 since the 4890 has a gig of vram and the 4870 only has 512?

  • Great vid!

You should link to my new tool, Zeus

    Thanks /Cindori

  • what web site did you get the 6 pin to 6pin cable at plz let me know

  • hi, i bought it off ebay. im not sure who the exact user was but search for item number 260559264289 and thats what you need. you'll need two of them :)

  • @jlbee36 thanks! can i use any card like a 5770 for windows ?

  • im not too sure about those ones just yet, just the 4890 or 4870 work fine.. check the link on the sidebar and see if anyone has flashed the 5770 yet?

  • @thechilla no like will the 5770 and the 6 pin to 6 pin cable work for windows (bootcamp)

  • ah ok, yeah sure that should work! in fact any card will under windows, just not with mac. and the 6pin-6pin will work fine, depending on which version of the macpro you have - you'll have to check that out yourself :)

  • @thechilla im going to get the 2009 mac pro next week

  • @thechilla hey, do you know if i can install Natit and run a powercolor ati 5770 or do i need to make my own bios? just because 4890 is the highest model number in the ati flash tool card table, i only need the graphics card for one specific purpose and i wouldnt mind switching it out and putting my current one back in after im done with what i need it for, so if i could just set it up so i can boot into boot camp without flashing it, that would be enough for me

  • @burn435353 That in a mac pro?

If it's a mac pro, then it depends what model it is. If it's the normal model you should be able just to flash it. If it's the Eyefinity 5 that may not work so well.

And you can boot in to boot camp with ANY graphics card you want. I repeat, ANY, if it will fit and be powered by the Mac Pro. That doesn't mean it will work in OS X.

  • is the cable to the graphics 6 pin to 6 pin
