i got this sun 78 as well.however it has a chip in it on this song but it don't affect the grooves of the song itself(found it at a flea market in2004 that was in a lp record i bought )hold on to it ,his sun records can go for big bucks(depending on condition)
Now That's A Tasty Record With A Pretty Big Value Nowadays Too, You Are Very Lucky To Have It And It's Good To See You Enjoying It Too, Most People That Have Valuble Records Won't Play Them Too But I say Enjoy What You Have
@ninjabluewings Thank You For That Comment,My More Valuble Records I Only Play A Few Times,Especially To Make A Video,So I Can Share It With Everyone,Plus It Keeps Me From Pulling It From The Collection To Play It,I Can Just Go To Youtube:)
You don't get this feel for a recording or an artist when you download a track do you? Elvis sounds better than anything around today....and thats not just me getting older I like a lot of todays artists remixes etc.. I'm beginning to think the vinyl heads are right stuff sounds mind CD don't much care for the way Sun tracks sound on CD and don't mention the Beatles remasters...I know they've split up but I don't want to hear the clinical and cold seperation in the sound .
As far as I'm concerned, this is Elvis Presley's best musical time period. These recordings were raw, real, and rockin'!! Yes, 78s were still being produced in the mid-50s. I remember as a kid seeing the record rack for them along with the 45s at that time...
that was great! I found my mom's MYSTERY TRAIN 78 SUN record the other day and played it at her house....the "very little" static on the record player as I listened brought back a lot of memories!!! Dvd's are good.......but......those fond memories of playing records.........what more can I say!!! Sincerely, A 70's Teen!!!
To hear how this Record was Born you must listen to SUN # 192 By Junior Parker side 1 Mystery B(blues) side 2 Love my baby (Up Tempo) the combo of both of them formed Elvis Presley's Mystery Train. Sam Phillips then takes credit as co-author on the newly re-worked project. its a must hear...
i am definitely glad you played it for us!! And you got a good sound out of that "live" recording through your camera's microphone. Fantastic, buddy!!!
Wow I'm jealous! lol My main reason for being so jealous is because all of my Elvis collection was stolen almost 20 years ago. I had a couple original SUN 45's that were my dad's. And alot of original RCA 45's with the Album like covers. Some of which had 4 or 5 songs on them. Plus my whole album collection which took years to collect. Most all original pressings and in good condition or better. Plus there was books, posters, mirrors, etc..etc.. alot of collectables.
Wow is this an original pressing? Holy shit I'd have this in a frame! Thanks for sharing it with us. Great song!!! My favorite of the SUN sessions. I guess thinking about it they are all great! lol
I have this on an RCA Victor 45 EP with the other 3 songs on there.

Probably the only Presley song I really like... A little primitive, great guitar riff by Scotty Moore. Can't beat this one.

"Crazy Man Crazy" recorded in 1953 by Bill Haley is the first recognized rockabilly track on Billboard. Long Live Rock-a-Bill.

That Is An Awesome Record.About 5 Years Ago,I Saw A Bunch Of Elvis LPs In The Trash And With them Were All His SUN Releses On 78 In Mint Condition,
But They Were Broken Into a Million Pieces. How Are You Able To Play This Record Without Breaking The Stylus?
glennmillerfan 2 years ago 2
WOW!! that's a dam shame, why would anybody want to destroy original Elvis Sun 78's especialy in mint condition???...
I can't imagine what those records would be worth if they had been intact, i tell you people have no idea in the value of things..
