That beeing said, birth rates are globaly going closer and closer to 2.13 which is the point at which population no longer grows, We can affect birthrates very effective by educating women in particular and provding healthcare. I'll just add the media, government & it's highly controlled education & indoctrination program tends to promote militarism (rarely maligning it) and we all know those CFCs from our fridges were the main cause for the O3-layer hole. We learned it in school. No mention of all those nuclear tests or EMF pollution- EVER! Obviously the evidence is available on the internet and in science journals now. Just saying, if we sorted out our priorities the earth could sustain at least 8 Bil. say 'many'!

I believe early 2005 at the latest going by 1 of his 'last year' comments being 2003. I'm not a man-made 'global warming' believer but do believe we're (or they're) pumping some very nasty pollution into just about every human and our water & air supplies. The totally inadequately proven CO2 myth is an invisible smokescreen and 'crap and trade' is blatantly a push toward global governance via global taxation. Extra bureaucracy creates extra WASTE! It's proven. Svante Arrhenius proved the radiative forcing of CO2 and other gases in 1896. Charles Keeling started measuring the atmospheric content of CO2 in 1957 at Mauna Loa. Can you see where this is going?

Current trends in global air, land & sea temp. have shown cooling for a few years now yet CO2 and other greenhouse gases are still increasing. Solar activity may be 'clouding' a longer term warming trend or actually be the primary factor. Check out sunspot records as well as CO2 records (that show CO2 levels as an effect of temperature change (pres. due to flora & fauna population factors) as much as a cause) - depends on how you view the data. A myth until PROVEN - evidence for both.

CO2 and other GHGs will behave exactly the same on this planet as they will on one 13 billion light years away. Arrhenius proved it in 1896. The radiative forcing is a function of the concentration.

The lecture addressed population growth overwhelming all efforts to contain emission growth. The case studies of China and India illustrate how other countries have stared directly at the consequences. Iran has mandatory family planning course required before marriage. That was enlightening.

I'm not actually denying the GHG science, just how much of an effect it has on a planetary scale and realise the figures will always be exaggerated by the (alarmist) media. With our O3-layer hole the sun contributes more heat than ever. My view is MILITARISM may, in a sick way, control pop. growth a little but is also the world's most unnecessary polluter / resource waster. Even in peace AF training planes fly, yesterday French Foreign Legion burnt 1000 HECTARES of greenbelt land! Kill'em'all!?

Alarmist media? Find the video "Climate Change, Adaptation and Mitigation". It's a lecture by Stephen Schneider. See it and you may decide the media isn't alarmist enough. Schneider is one of those nuclear winter researcher scientists, teaches at Stanford U. Hint: I saved it in my favorites.

We've had the cooling scare of the 70s+ early 80s, the warming scare of the late 80s+90s and now many are touting cooling again toward a new ICE AGE! Now you may disagree with my political conjecture or be pro an unelected world gov. for all I know but bare in mind the politics of (world) population control. I'm not talking some 90% pop. reduction plan either, just 'Zero Population Growth' (good? env. sci-fi film!). CO2 is not toxic compared to the now ignored pollutants - SO2, DU, CFCs, SOOT!

Perhaps we should consider that he most likely had his children before developing this theory. Also, he doesn't have any control over the reproductive decisions of his children.

Sounds awfully "convenient" for somebody to have had supposedly "too many" children, and then start preaching enviro-lies later on, telling us mere peons, that we must make the sacrifices and not have so many children ourselves, after Al Gore already had his 4 children or whatever.

I already urge a more vastly and densely populated world, so that so many parents may continue to enjoy having "all the children God gives," so I don't dare accuse anybody of having "too many" children.

Parents DO influence how many grandchildren - I want LOTS of kids and GRANDKIDS. I oppose pop "control."

I think the speech is very worth listening to. It bares an important message for those of us concerned about the environment.
