By the way, this segment was evidently made before Sailor Moon got to the "Outer" Senshi. Though Gunbuster first came out in 1988, four years BEFORE Sailor Moon. Methinks I need more release date info...

From what I can guess, this "science class" special (along with others) appeared 6 years after 1988. Hence the name of the video having the word "Renewal" in it.

@IZEASGT This science lesson and science lesson 5 were made exclusivly for the laserdisc release of gunbuster in 1995 or 1996, dont know exactly. At that time sailor moon was at its peak, so it makes sense they did a nice little parody / tribute to it

So, the extra planets are: Lucifer (10), Metis (11) (but that name's already assigned to a moon of Jupiter), Kaminatsukisei (12) (according to Kentaro ONIZUKA, an ancient name for the tenth month), and Jupiter 2 (13), site of the final defense line. But in "Diebuster" the "new tenth planet" is called Octobrion, and the remnant at Black Hole Exelio is the "former thirteenth planet, Vulcan." I guess things got renamed in the intervening millenia.
