Very Seriously Good machine. I've put the RT bars on my RS and it's much more comfortable than with the autobahn bars. I've got a spare one I'm about to start a weight reduction program on. Looking forward to that.......
Same colour and spec as mine, but I'm just in the last stretches of making her roadworthy. It's good to see these classics still being loved and ridden.
The K100 might be a little too much for an absolute beginner to ride. It is kind of heavy for what it is, but much easier to manage than a fully-faired touring bike. It is a smooth and comfortable ride. I think a K-bike might be something to aspire to after you have a few miles under the tires of a smaller and lighter motorcycle. If you have a chance to sit on a K100 or ride a K-bike, that might help you decide what is best for you. But they ARE great motorcycles!
Sorry for the delay in replying. This wider handlebar is pretty comfortable. No handling issues and it gives a decent amount of fine control in the turns. Not twitchy at all.

My favourite BMW bike. The mighty base K100.

How hard would the K100 be for a beginner to ride? My dream bike will always be any BMW K series bike.

I really want a handlebar like yours. I have the RS "euro short-pull back" type bar, and it's so narrow - makes me feel unstable.
