It seems like a myth really. I believe some of the radical things I heard and what our governments doing or plans to do but this is weird. I mean your say things thousands and thousands of people will no longer be able to advertise for free and if if they could advertise the only ones seeing it are the one that pay....and thats only if that certain site is allowed to be seen. Small businesses would take a huge hit like never before see. Millions would lose their jobs. Its kind of impossible

there is no internet 2. What you are talking about was made up by people who want to sound smart. What you might think your talking about is "net neutrality" (LOOK IT UP) but thats still completely diferent. Nobody is going to delete the internet. The internet is just a network, pc's around the world interconected.

K, I don't know how I got from Bill O'tardly vids to internet 2, but let me set you children straight. FIber-optic cables transfer data at the speed of light. It connects to the existing infrastructure, it doesn't require some sort of...rebuilding of the internet. How would that every make any sense?

Also, it's already in effect, fiber-optic networks are already used by government, research, private companies. It's...already here.

But I DID get a laugh, don't get me wrong.

@lordpepito Well there is really talk about Internet 2 besides A. Jones etc. Like guy from PC Magazine talking on Fox News about Internet 2 and other news snipets about the need of scraping old internet. So talk about this already exists. From technical viewpoint you also need to go for IPv6 routers etc. this is given as a reason for creating a new network. Google some articles. Although not much information about it ..

@lordpepito I know it's 3 years later but I figure you may not know about these. The Protect IP Act and Stop Online Piracy Act. Seeing as these laws can delete web pages for it's users infringing on copyright (not the website itself) I think it's a step forward towards it. In fact, JeepersMedia did a whole video about SOPA and how it was the big companies themselves who distributed the pirating software and are now backing these laws.

i did a little research about Internet2 in my country -in may language and i found just articles were media wrote that it will be cool because of speed,and guess what?yes a privacy will be secured and we wil not be attacked by spam...can you believe it what a shameful propaganda,they got most of media also in Europe...Its really bad.
