  • why not just use a spoon?

  • y does it react to this?

  • this is a physical reaction. really good project though.

  • Its a physical reactiin

  • itd be nice if we could understand what youre saying...

  • hey lay off hes just a kid like really you guys are really sick to call a kid an idiot thats sad

  • Thats Pretty cool :)

  • Wow a lot of u people must have nothing better to do then call a kid an idiot over youtube comments! Oh come on people he's just a kid doing an experiment, lay off a little.

  • Hey genius saying this isnt a chemical reaction. This is science, the call things chemical reactions that dont involve things that the common mass's refer to as chemicals such as, vinegar, wool, an apple reacting to oxygen, etc.

  • uhm....i live somewhere els and i dont know where to buy food coloring...so can you also use ink?

  • first off you need a plate and so then the chemical CHANGE will be able to spread out and you see the effect better and for all of you the real thing haqppening is when the dish cleaner touches the milk the cleaner in the soap reaches out and grabs the fat from th milk and that is why the food coloring sperads out smart ones

  • Okay, actually. There is a chemical change happening, you idiot.

Because when this experiment takes place. The food coloring is added to show what would happen when you put the soap in, if there was no color. you wouldn't be able to see it happen. Dish detergent breaks down grease & fat.

When you put the soap in the milk, The fatty milk particles burst and as they burst, the milk moves because the particles move faster. If you must know, when the particles move, a change is happening, (:

  • one gallon bleach one gallon anmonia in bath tub turn on hotwater breath in fumes

  • buy a normal camera

  • but how?? I mean,if u do this for a science fair u gotta tell how!!!

  • omg awsome

  • SWEET!!!!

  • THAT IS COOL!!

  • lol do that in frunt of a cat its so funny

  • hay try that but this time spray the dish soap in to it and see if it has bigger reaction n_n

  • Guys this is not a chemical reaction, Milk has water in it, and the soap is just breaking the water's surface tension.. the Food coloring just makes the Water molecules that are scattering noticeable

  • Isn't that a hetero physical reaction?

  • just paint do it on a paper or stof and do it its fun i tried?

  • FAG thats probably not a chemical reaction

  • I did this in Biology the other day

  • @grendel311 why when it has nothing to do with biology?

  • @xZM3rC3nArYXz Just to practice the scientific method

  • @grendel311 suppose, but it proberbly has more to do with physics than biology though. meh im off to eat some smiley potato faces. :)

  • @xZM3rC3nArYXz Ok. lol

  • th... sou...nd.... is CRA....P

  • i dare u to drink it

  • Congratulations! Your video has been selected to appear on The Reaction where we showcase the best of the videos that demonstrate the wonder of chemistry.

  • looks pretty cool

  • that is pretty cool kid

  • hey i used it for my science projects and the teacher gave me a 4 and my classmates that it was so cool

  • That was pretty cool dishsoap breaks the surface tension of the water and the energy from that shifts the colors.

  • u can also use water and pepper

  • that was pretty wicked man

  • not a chemical reaction but a reaction.

  • thats considered as a chemical reaction?..

  • plz tell us how the reaction happened

  • whatta waste of milk

  • was that dish washing liquid??

  • I don't give a fuck

  • can you make more horrible voice

  • cool

  • your sound ---

  • i did this for my science project it was easy and cool to do.

  • my son is going to be doing the milk, food coloring and dish soap experiment and do a research paper on it. We are looking for like a newspaper or magazine artical and where some more books for like to use for resurces?

  • nice dude!!

  • That is the coolest thing I have EVER seen!

  • ya do that with water and black pepper

  • Nice man!!

  • dude this works with pva glue aswell so dont just go and wasting precious food... think about the less fortunate people.

  • viscosity?

  • Pretty cool

  • To all those bastards who commenting asshole comments GTFO

  • I think the only thing you did was just blend the colorants (which you can do without the soap),

so, this is not a reaction, you should have tried something better like starch and iodine.

  • @IvanTH3K1NG It was a reaction because when he stuck it in the colours shot away...

  • @Lauren250893

No change in the chemicals present means no reaction has occured. Just because something happens doesn't make it a chemical reaction. This effect, I'm guessing, has to do with solubility differences of food coloring in milk or soap. It's like freezing water: something happened, but it's not a chemical reaction.

  • @AnzaBrush when he dipped the qtip into the milk the soap formed into clusters called micelles and they were going thru the milk distrabuting the fat and the food coloring was how you can see it happening.

  • @AnzaBrush The surface tension of the milk gets disturbed by the soaps physical properties. An example of pressure.

  • a physical reaction of fat in milk and detergent in dishsoap, colors just let us see how fat (hydrophobic) are rounded by detergent which have hydrophobic tail and hydrophilic head

  • good job dude its a nice experiment i'll show off

  • COOL lol

  • bunch of losers its acool expeirement not a lab with a bunch of nerds like you its a kid doing a cool expeiremnt sheesh!

  • Oh, give the kid a break! He's just happy with his experiment. What did you expect; another Chernobyl disaster?

  • @dgr8poss speak the truth

  • a chemical reaction requires an alteration in the molecular structure ^^

  • that is not a chemical reaction BTW....there are no chemical changes happening...

  • @metal0artist0kyle its a physical change indicator obviosly the kid hasn't payed attention in school.

  • @metal0artist0kyle He thinks its cool you jackass

  • @redrsplayer69 Regardless of whether he thinks its cool, the video is mislabeled. it should be "Interesting fluid dynamcis" or someshit. Its a cool video, im just saying.

  • @metal0artist0kyle it is a chemical reaction some kid in my class is doing it

  • Groovy man!! oh dude I have the muchies.

  • boaring

  • kool but not worth bein on youtube

  • BBOOAAARRRIIIIINNNNGGG

  • cool

  • BSSSH BSSSH BSSSSH, every time you make a noise, that happens

  • I believe it has to do with the surface tension of the liquid being altered by the detergent.

  • umamamammmam mammama whats he even saying kids got marbles in his mouth

  • lameeeee

  • lol its coulorful and cool give the kid a break

  • it's cool but it anit no chemical reaction

  • this is not a chamical reaction

  • thats a god damn physical change!

  • Would you cut the kid a friggen break hes like 8 years old for christ's sake.

  • Comment removed

  • ok seriously, anyone older than you knows how to make a chemical reaction and anyone younger than you doesnt care about chemistry.O and by the way, study chemistry a little more bud cause this is not a chamical reaction.

  • Sorry, this is not a chemical reaction. This experiment deals with water tension NOT a chemical reaction. The properties of the milk and food coloring do not change. It is like saying a chemical reaction takes place when you tear a pice of paper into smaller pieces.

  • yeah, the soap's just a surfactant.

  • Yes, it is a Chemical reaction! Soap, and milk are both chemicals, and in they caused a action that was the result of a preceeding action! The soap creates a film overtop the milk because the soap has a higher surface tention than the milk, and while it spans the entire bowl it pushes away the foodcoloring that is left on the surface of the milk.

  • THATS NOT A REACTION im in 6 grade and know that

  • This is not a chemical reaction... no heat or light was given off, gas was not produced, a new colour was not seen and no precipitate was formed!

  • I wanted to try to do this for a Chemical Reaction Project I have to do...

So it's NOT a chemical reaction??

  • No. Definatley not!!

  • Could it be a physical change?

What if you mix like, 2 colors together and it made a new color...

Could that be a physical change??

  • Yes it is a physical change. As I stated below, none of the properties of a chemical reaction are present!

  • Thank you for your time

  • It's not a real chemical reaction. The omly thing that happen, is that the soap breaks the surface tension of the milk...

  • what did he say all i kan hear is poof poof poof poof

  • if you want better guality write in your addres bar &fmt=18

  • i don't get a thing you did because of the quality what i heard at the end was i-...wi-.... and su-..........bye.

  • wtf is up with the quality?? its like "Just add your- oulering to the- just take thi- nd spray a litt- ergent."

  • i can do the same whit papper , soap and water

  • you can do the same thing with pepper on water

  • dude thats hell kool

  • lol looks like a lolly pop mmm

  • what kind of milk?

  • wat did he say? he was mumbling i think but nice experiment

  • what dish soap did u use cause i tried this and it didn't work???????

  • DRINK IT

  • cool, I'll try that some time

  • there is no chemical change to either the milk or the food coloring you stupid fuck

  • That's a physical change, not a chemical change.

  • thats not a chemical reaction you stupid fuck this has nothing to do with chemistry thats called physics get a life and stop making your self look stupid

  • well said

  • dumb asshole u tink ur kewl? huh? motherfucker

  • nice...but i cant hear wad r u saying...

  • Seriosly this is a Great one but If you put water and pepper all in the water (in a bowl) than you put a dap of Dish soap on youur finger dap it in to the center of the bowl and your pepper goes to the sides of the bowl. i have a video of it. Its so sweet.

  • the only reason that happens is because the food coloring has oils in it and the soap make the oils in the coloring basically blowup

  • no lol the dishwashing soap sucks the food coloring under and makes a underwater current this has nothing to do with chemistry its called physics xD chemistry is probaly one of my greatist passions

  • it dosent blow up.. christ lol it pushes it away

  • kewl!!!!

  • what were you saying?

  • YOUR CAMERA SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude your good man that was a cool one

  • who wears a hat indoors? lol

  • me :p

  • ppl without brain? :]

  • fail

  • Actually, it's not a chemical reaktion!

  • put some cornflakes in it and its ready

  • lol

  • ya thats sweet

  • that is COOL!

  • CHemical reactions are everywhere :) Even in Hair

  • that also works if you just put pepper in a bowl of water and put the soap in

  • cool thx

  • Looks cool.

  • OMG that is NOT a chemical reaction!!

it simply shows the surface tension being broken by soap.

  • The ingredients??

I want to make chemical reaction too!!

  • milk, 3 dyes, liquid soap

  • I CANT HEAR YOU !!!!

  • I know you couldn't hear me...i was too lazy to re-do the expiriment!

  • I just used "chemical reaction" to get more views

  • It's ok.I think it was great, and also for your age.Goog job kid!:)

  • finnaly some one who knows what there talking about

  • it wasnt a cemical reaction but it was cool

  • that is AWESOME

  • WOHHAAA

  • It doesnt even blow up... aww.... =(

but it was definitely a chemical reaction

  • if you want a chemical reaction...get a 20oz water bottle, empty it. Fill it up half way with vinegar, put about 4-6 tbs. of baking powder in a wad of plastic wrap. put the plastic wrap with the baking soda inside of it sticking out about 1/2 inch out of the bottle, then tighten, shake the bottle until you feel the pressure building up then throw in about 10ft away from you and it will go BOOOOOM!

  • That is little kid experiments(elementary science). You need something more stronger.

  • That is little kid experiments(elementary science). You need something more stronger.

  • that is so cool it really worked. But that is nothing for a science fair

  • lol I'mma do this for a Science fair. Is there a texted descriptions somewhere?

lol ty for a good laugh

  • Ummm...you get 2% milk fill in a bowl about 1 inch...get 3-4 different kinds of food coloring, put drop in there, make sure they dont overlap. Then get liquid soap, put it all over the end of a q-tip, then dip it in the chemicals mix and make the reaction.

  • How does this Happen?

  • its so much cool.i like it :)) what is the material been used aniway?

  • 2% Milk, some food dies and a drip of dishwashing liquid

  • my favorite chemical reaction is wen you swallow sulferic acid an shit out dasiys. its a must put to follow up on this video

  • you're kidding, right?

  • lmfao good one

  • i liked it

  • im not a science geek, i just saw a trick and wanted more hits on youtube.

  • bitch yu callin me a science ggeeek?

  • lol good one. Thanks for a laugh.

  • THIS IS NOT A CHEMICAL REACTION!!!!! dammit...

this just basically kills the surface tension of the water causing everything to 'boil' and mix.

  • come on plees

  • trust me... if you need some help go up to youtube and search science trick or whatever.

  • that's confidential but it was the only like science related idea

  • intresting

  • thx

  • COOL! Over all, I think you did a GREAT job making this video. May I ask you a question, What kind of milk did you use? Does it matter if you use whole milk, half and half, or 2% milk???

  • I just used what we had in the fridge, 2%. I don't think it matters, it might because of the density but i dont know.

  • THANK YOU!!!^^
