I remember when i saw in the spanish tv a program of albeñiz on his death centenary.
The frists compositions of Albeñiz were easy and in the conservatories of Spain the students played the compositions of Albeñiz because he was the most important spanish compositor.
And the students played the Albeñiz compositions too bad, and Albeñiz said " Now I´m going to compose difficoult songs, son any begginer won´t play it "
TRULY THIS IS THE BEST PERFORMANCE THERE IS OF ASTURIAS, IT IS NOT ONLY IMPECABLE TECHNICALLY BUT HAS THE SPIRIT, THAT MAKES THIS PIECE BELONG TO THIS FANTASTIC ARTIST OSORIO, IT IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFULL, NOBODY EVEN SPANISH HAS EVER PLAYED THIS WAY, BRAVO MAESTRO! AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK AND LOVE, WE ALL WISH TO PLAY LIKE THIS ONE DAY, IF ANY ONE DISAGREES I DARE THEM TO PUT A VIDEO SAYING OTHERWISE, WORDS ONLY DO NOT MATTER.
I think this is a little too fast. He leaves out the last 16th note in each measure in order to play the chord/jumps at speed, and there is none of that Spanish guitar feeling to it.
Impressive, but I think it's a bit too fast, I think it sounds better a little slower (not too much) with more attention to volume fluctuations, accents and subtle timing.. just because you can play something amazingly fast doesnt always mean you should. It is still great though I like it, nice rendition and incredible musician.
Muchas gracias Maestro Osorio.
@52dalibor are you serious? sorry but the one you recommend is waaaaaaaaaaay too slow (and mechanical for my taste). This piece must be played fast, maybe no so fast like here but fast. The Spanish theme that "depicts" here need speed and force. And "fast" doesn't always mean inexpressive, you have a lot of soul and music in this interpretation.
Gracias maestro Osorio.
the tempo is too fast. Maybe not too fast for another pianist, but it's too fast for him, because In the leap section he's scrambling a bit. Better to back off a bit on the tempo.
@scordatura Lol I don't know about that. It sounded to me like he played all the notes perfectly and in time but didn't worry too much about volume control only in certain spots. What do you consider the "leap section" in this song anyway?
@PodaiKofa Some people don't like it that fast. I think there are slightly slower renditions out there that are played much better. Although I like the sound of this song on guitar a lot better I don't know about piano it might just sound better at this speed..
I think albeniz's songs are better in guitar xD I know that the originals are for piano but is only a comment and of course I play guitar and a little piano and I will be finishing the carrer of music in 1 year .. so in my opinion are better in guitar :X
I kinda get where you're coming from but I really think this is the best speed for the piano version...for exams this is ARCT, and really I find it's not at all a challenge when you play it slowly...I'm modelling my performance style on Mr.Osorio's because I believe it's the best interpretation. This piece is incredibly difficult to play accurately consistently at this speed.
@Cricketplayer100 I disagree.. it may not be hard. I think it sounds better when it's a little slower and you worry more about the technique of your playing. I'm not saying I don't like this interpretation though.
This is remarkable! I have to ask you, where did you find these recordings? Would you be willing to share some through email? I really want to thank you for uploading these treasures! I have always wanted and have been looking for recordings such as these, thank you!!
Please do not argue that the piano version is better or that the guitar version is better. Each has its own beauty to offer, and any argument related to this is both ignorant and not constructive.
I totally agree that the two different versions have their own flavor, as they are for different instruments. But I would also argue against saying that the guitar version is better, as this piece was originally composed for piano.
