  • Thanks for sharing!!,!

  • I don't know you but I know this story WAY too well.

  • 1:56 is actually the highlight of my week.

  • Wow, I'm really impressed with how positive you are able to be after that! As horrible as MS must be, I'm really happy for you that you are kind of able to have a hold of it and handle it. Thank you for being grateful, it is a great example and reminder for the rest of us to not take our health for granted. Hugs. <3

  • Now I feel bad that I normally sit in the shower.

  • *hugs* :(

  • my grampy has ms :( I'm sorry, I've seen him go through it and I know how hard it is<3 I hope things get better for you

  • Thank you for your Lessons in Being Awesome.

There is nothing "corny" about this video. In fact, you just made me remember again what I have. And you showed me again how precious our lives are.

    . .

    I needed this today.

    I really. Did.

  • @JPMETZhasMS this is my favorite video of yours! When I found out you had this blog I melted! Someone is going through similar things like me make me not feel so alone.I have a great support system of people but they don't understand. I just had a relapse that started on New years eve. I feel jipped of a New years! Dizziness and vertigo for 11 days straight. Thank you for making these videos. Thank you for having the courage to talk about what you go through and that helps others!

  • Praise God for your healing and for the wisdom imparted to research scientists. That's really wonderful! I am soooo happy for you! Thank you for sharing!

  • Oh I forgot to ask are you still on a gluten free diet, I was for about a year but felt no better (had a tube down my throat and a biopsy that showed no evidence of disease also) so I went back to a normal healthy diet x

  • Oh my! In the last 2 months I have only been able to have a shower 3 times! I have been stuggling with vertigo so badly! numb legs, double vision, fatigue! winter is worse for me! I am looking forward to feeling brighter! I always feel worried that I wont recover from relapses and each relapse has left another part of damage! I am always grateful for the small things that some people take for granted, although MS sucks, it makes me appreciate when I CAN do those small things

    Hugs to you x

  • The person who dislikes this video clearly has no soul.

  • It's awesome to see this side of you, Justine. I completely know what you mean about being grateful for the smallest things.

  • my mother was diagnosed with ms in the begining of last year and she also has muscular dystrophy. your an inspiration, your one strong girl and i hope they find a cure soon.

  • I think its safe to say we all love you, stay strong :)

  • stay strong and be you

  • god bless you

  • thank you for this video.

  • I had similar problems with the double vision.. Friends thought I was actually going crazy because I'd close one eye while doing something. I agree with you that having MS makes you so much more grateful! Your video is great and it's comforting knowing there are others around my age going through similar things. Thanks!

  • That is a crap load of BS that your body has put you threw JP. Huge hugs for you for being so strong threw the whole thing so far. You do accept bear hugs right? <.< Keep awesome woman <3

  • Such a strong person.

  • meh, I get the stupidest shit happen to me like getting my face paralyzed for like a month or so, had this crazy ingrown hair under the skin of my left arm that hurt like hell when someone bump into it and I got a screwy knee and shoulder. I agree with you, when stuff happens to you, in general you're more grateful for the things you're able to do. I love this channel! <3

  • I dont know what it's like to have MS, but I know what it's like to be in constant suffering, and worrying.I have a rare kidney diease and I take 40pills every day,and I'll have to for the rest of my life.Without the constant medication my kidney would wash out my pottasium, salt, fluids, or have kidney failure or cardiac arrest.Because of my kidney disease I have developed tetany,a painful muscle conditoin, as well paresthesias..It can be hard not knowing if you'll live at 16, but i love life.♥

  • this is inspiring

  • also not corny at all, cuz it's "real". such an overused word and i really don't know what it means when people say it, but yeah, to me, you're as real as it gets.

  • you are AWESOME.

  • So proud of you Justine, I know you don't like us minions showing emotion but I almost started crying, not out of pity but out of me being so happy for you that you are able to not take for granted things that most of us do every day, and for your 90% recovery! That's awesome! You're such an inspiration. And you look good too ;)

  • So proud of you and happy for you. And your hair looks AWESOME!

  • This made me cry. You're amazing and an inspiration :)

  • You are so genuine and beautiful it's breathtaking. I'm glad I found you on YouTube. I love you the frig.

  • my momma suffered from exactly the same things as you do. I'm so glad you have started to feel better <3

  • i'm really glad you're feeling a lot better :)

  • my grandmother has been struggling with MS since she was in her late 30s-early 40s and refuses to give in to it, however, there's no doubt a lot of symptoms and even other illnesses have been a direct result of it or even from attempted treatment of it. i know that obviously i do not personally know you or what your personality is like besides what we see in your videos but from those i sense the same strong willed stubbornness that has kept her going in you as well. i commend you for opening up

  • because it's not an easy thing to do. i give anyone who has struggled with an illness that can be so frustrating a lot of credit, especially people like you and her who refuse to allow it to consume you as much as possible and remain strong intelligent independent women regardless of the obstacles you have overcome or will come to face in the future.

  • My aunt has ms and it sucks!!!

  • @10650117 So does mine

  • Well Done.

  • LOVE U THE FRIG

  • Justine! I friggin love you. I have one question though. Do you experience seizures with your MS? I know that with my friends mom, her random laughing and crying turned out to be gelastic seizures. I have epilepsy myself, and I have seizures so often that I cant feel my left side after one. I use an epic shower chair and damn are they epic!

  • 1:58...that is all xD

  • You're an inspiration! Love watching your videos.

  • Watching only these two videos available on this channel so far have made me think so much more. My mom has MS and goes through everything that you have...and she does a lot for my family and stands tall and supports us. I love this channel and I'll keep following.

  • I am so glad you decided to do this. I have followed you from my beginning on yt. I love your humor and think you are hilarious. I truly appreciate you opening up about your illness and helping me understand what you are going through. Bless you and your family, your strength is remarkable.

  • You are super awesome! Keep up the good work and I hope your health starts to get better. Having a positive attitude, even in the lamest of times is the best thing you can do. Just like you said, being grateful you can stand up in the shower. It's the little things people over look every day that count.

  • Comment removed

  • I know that on your other channels all your minions, myself included, like to write lovely comments in the hopes to be chosen for your "comments time" at the end of your videos. But just know that you are truly inspirational and that I really do think you are a great and beautiful person. Stay strong Justine, we love you.

  • This is my favorite video from you.

  • i hope you get as better as possible jp

  • Spent all day on my feet. Thought of Justine and was thankful that I could stand.

  • @meadowcloud519 heck yeah!!!

  • My dad has MS and its been a struggle for my whole family. He has taken a lot of the medications you have, but after his recent MS attack, he figured basically having the flu every other day wasn't worth it. He acts like its not that big of a deal, but my family knows it is.Its easy to forget that there are other people going through this, but knowing that there are makes it easier to deal with. If JPmetz can get through it, so can my dad :)

  • It's crazy hearing all this. You think you know someone because they post their lives on youtube, but when you hear things like this, it makes you realize that we're all so different yet so much the same.

  • I felt the desire to fist bump @ 3:00. I've totally been tired enough to plop down outside in HAIL.

  • Thank you for making these and putting yourself out there. You'll probably have no idea how many countless people you are helping, inspiring and blessing. Just awesome

  • @JenKen13 thanks!!! i got the idea from all the other MS vlogs i would watch, hoping that they would help someone going through a hard time...

  • You are so strong and inspiring.<3333333

  • Shower chair the frig helps. Spluge, get the one with the back support. Looking at it makes me feel like an 85 yr old woman, but, it's there for the worst of times... and has has helped break my fall when I was under the illusion that I was "OK" enough to stand. Thanks for this channel. God Bless :-)

  • @kimtonearts i saw those things on TV and holy crap i want one! lol

  • I love you jpmetz you're such a strong and amazing person, I hope you have a blessed and amazing 2012

  • jpmetz, i've always thought you were awesome and hilarious, but you're much more than that. you can make it through anything.

  • you are inspirational. keep on keeping on, if you ever want to play online games anything, lets do it :)

  • brought me to tears. i just stumbled upon this. YOU.ARE.AMAZING. <3

  • i feel so bad for you. the frig god thinking asshat. why the hell would he give you ms . asshat.

  • you're an inspiration. stay strong. stand tall.

  • @JennyLouise17 hell yeah i do I'm 5'9"

  • my mom has ms too. she doesn't have to get chemo any more but she still has to have steroids. its a hard disease. i think the scariest part is not knowing whats going to happen next. you're in my prayers:) feel better.

  • I'm gonna go take a shower :) <3

  • we love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^

  • You are awesome JP Metz. :)

  • Wow!!! You are soooooooooooooo amazing!! I have ms running in my family and I have a basic understanding of the difficulties you go through. You all are such incredibly strong and amazing people who truly inspire me! Makes me realize how important it is to not take the little things for granted. I've been going through a tough time and have been really low, but watching this right now...you've truly helped change my perspective. Thank you for being so strong!

  • daaaayuummm gurl, you look gorgeous here !

  • I think it's great you made this channel. It helps others relate and allows you to vent (anyone who labels this complaining has no idea what they're talking about). I highly recommend you read a book called Bright-Sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking has Underminded America by Barbara Ehrenreich. She wrote it about how when she was diagnosed with cancer everyone was giving her this "just keep positive!" bs that doesn't help, and how to be realistic while still overcoming.

  • This is not corny. We should all take an example and be as grateful as you are!

  • you are frigging amazing!

  • i was diagnosed with lupus (i suspect because my doctors could figure out what else was going on with me) and had about 3 pretty rough years with mystery illness (probably lupus). im in remission now, but i remember how shitty and bonkers i felt and i think it is cool that you are sharing this stuff. ta.

  • I really hope this doesn't get lost among all the other comments, but I suggest that you search for Dr. Terry Wahls's TED talk. She discusses how she cured her MS through diet, which convinced me to start eating a very similar way (called paleo). It has worked wonders for my fibromyalgia, and obviously worked wonders for Dr. Wahls, as well.

  • I really admire you for being so strong about everything you've had going on this year. I hope 2012 is a good year for you!

  • Thank you so much for doing this channel. I am in tears here, as I also have MS and have been watching your videos for months because you make me laugh. You are an inspiration. Thank you again, you've really moved me.

  • thank you so much for sharing this with us. you prob wont ever truly understand how much it means to your viewers, including myself <3 i hope you had a wonderful new year.

  • You are so amazingly strong. I hope things get better for you.

  • you are seriously one of my biggest inspirations :) thank you for just being you.

love you for being so positive.

  • you inspire me and so many others. Love you keep your chin up because you are an amazing person. 2012 will treat you better

  • I know you always worry you will never come back from the latest relapse. I had a real bad cognitive relapse that made me incapable of doing anything:( I have bounced back but I am terrified it might come back....the damage it has done to my brain is real bad too:( Glad to hear you are feeling better. Are you still on Gilenya? x

  • @whyworryabout2moro Im not, it turns out gilenya didnt really help, so now Im onto avonex!

  • @JPMETZhasMS I wish you the best of luck with it xx I am on copaxone, LDN and a load of supps.....not sure if they are doing anything but hey you gotta try everything.

  • @whyworryabout2moro mannn copaxone was rough!! doing that everyday was tough. good luck!!

  • I only know about Bell's Palsy because one of our Prime Ministers (Jean Chretien in Canada) has it permanently. you must be cool if you shared a condition with that fellow, Justine! ;)

  • happy to here your feeling a little better

  • I totally know how you feel! I have a neurological disorder where my blood vessels don't always get blood to my brain, and I sometimes have to use a wheelchair. So, when I feel good enough to stand for very long or walk farther than normal, I am just so happy!

  • Is it wrong that I respect this channel 1000 x more than all the others? I know you are in the popular youtuber crowd, but seeing that you all aren't always so friggin happy, traveling, and always in this youtube bubble, but have real problems like us who aren't as blessed and honestly put it out there, makes me think you really are cool people.

  • @MyFifteenMins thanks the frig!!

  • @MyFifteenMins Thumbs up. Doing it wasn't enough, had to say it.

  • yo, you taught me (a tommy weirdo) how to wear makeup, made me laugh and this video is amazeballs, usa. you rock hxc. (I use awkward slang because I can't say how I actually feel, hope that's cool).

  • Thanks for sharing - hope you have a happy 2012! :)

  • Justine we love you. I'm glad to know all this about you. I'm going to be thinking of you when I shower today...lol

  • Aw, Justine :'( you're making me depressed... you're so brave and I admire you so much... when people ask me who my idol is I say you because you take everything thrown at you and always come out with your head held high ,<3 Lots of love ,<3333333 P.S. @TheAngryTweeter typed this comment up ^_^

  • As soon as I finished watching this, I took a shower and said to myself "Holy crap! I'm standing! And it's awesome!"

  • I feel so weird liking this video. I want to support you....but I don't like all of those unfortunate and upsetting occurrences that you've been through.

  • Oh man. I have a back injury (disc right above my tailbone is damaged) that affects my ability to walk sometimes. When you talked about walking to catch the bus and needing to sit down & all, I almost cried, because I know how that feels! And also, how grateful you become for the days you actually CAN stand, walk, take a shower, etc. I so feel you on that. I always wonder when it will get too bad for me to keep doing the things I can now, & I hate thinking about that. And steroids are the devil!

  • You are so brave the frig!

  • Does your doc every give you IV solumedrol. I had a hard time with the long doses of prednisone and now I just get three days of IV. So much easier and quicker.

  • what a story...!

  • Words cannot describe how awesome I think you are. The frig.

  • Wow! All I can say is that i admire you even more<3

    Happy New Year! :)

  • I look up to you. . you are an awesome person! when you hurt I hurt. . <3

  • Gurllll you are my hero.

  • Justine, you're amazing! I am SO glad you're feeling better

  • You're amazing, and you inspire me <3

  • I'm so happy to see you're doing better! I was really concerned for you these past three months. My mom's friend has MS, and I can understand just how debilitating and scary it can be when you relapse. I love your positive attitude (haha, of course I love JPMetz, too!) toward your condition...2011 has been an incredibly hard year for me and my family. I can totally relate to the whole becoming a basket case thing. But I definitely look up to you and your ability to handle it all! thank you

  • You're amazing <3

  • Enjoy the night and your friends company. Hope everything 2011 put u thru makes 2012 that much sweeter because u got through it. Happy New Year!

  • I'm so happy you made this channel I don't have MS I have spinal Stenosis But I can relate

about just needing to sit down and not complaining to friends or family or talking health problems at all

  • @allustrial She's talkIng about her diseases and disabilities, you're talking about red lipstick. See the difference?

  • I had to watch this video twice because I was too busy focusing on Justine's incredible beauty to hear what she was saying.

  • I'm glad your feeling better!!

  • My boyfriend always shrugs off a relapse to try to make me feel better when I have one.But I freak out!, the entire time I can't stop thinking what if I don't get that back..What if this will stay. You have given me a lot of inspiration and I appreciate you for posting these videos! I hope that I as well will be able to smile and feel the same as you.. I am getting there.. I think it hasn't completely sunk in yet that I will have ms forever. I love your videos and I love watching this channel..

  • You are very inspiring :)

  • Happy New Year! So glad you're doing better, and your hair looks amazing!

  • Your such an amazing person inside and out and I'm glad things are better for you.

  • So glad you are felling better. I am probably going to be starting pred next month and I'm so nervous. You look great, you feel great, have a great night!

  • I'll never take a simple act like standing or showering for granted ever again. It's not a corny video, really :) If we could all hope to be half as strong as you are, the world would be a better friggin place. Have a wonderful New Year's. I hope 2012 will be better!

  • that is awesome!! I'm so happy for you! I love you even more now.

  • Justine, perhaps it would be an idea to do a red lip tutorial in May this year?

WEAR RED LIPSTICK AND HELP KISS GOODBYE TO MS

An initiative of MS Australia, Kiss Goodbye to MS will take place throughout May 2012.

Kiss Goodbye to MS calls on people with MS, their friends, family and colleagues to join in the fun and raise vital funds and awareness for research into Multiple Sclerosis.

  • u r amazing

  • I've been sick for a year, I know what you mean. They said I was going to die. I've never looked at life so differently before

  • i love how even after dealing with this horrible thing, you still manage to say you are happy you had it because it made you appreciate life. you rock.

  • I didn't think I could possibly love you more. And then I watched this video. And I gained a whole new respect for you <3

  • You are such a strong, wonderful person Justine.

  • Wow you are so strong. You are amazing and such a inspiration.

  • you are amazing! it's crazy how the people who have had the toughest times are the strongest and most positive. i've had a comfortable, normal life, and i STILL find things to complain about. you are awesome. stay strong and happy new year!

  • Thank you for sharing your story. I've had my fair share of medical issues but I've never had to be as strong as you've been. I hope you have a good new year :)

  • I'm so glad you're feeling better! My neighbor has MS and we just learned today that they're sending her to a nursing home. Her husband told my dad and he broke down crying when he told him. I don't have it, but MS sucks, but it could always be worse. It's all about cherishing the little things, and I'm so glad that you do! Now that I got all that compassion and frig out of the way, I'll just be droning along now ^^

  • My mom has MS, mind you not near as severe....but it's rough. I just started for real watching your videos (I watched a couple a few years ago), and I love them....you are too funny and I love how you can make ranting fun to watch and hear. lol. Thanks for sharing this journey with us, and your vlog was not corny at all. :)

  • Corny is good!!!! Your youtube friends/fans love you, too. Be safe tonight! Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just wanna hug you!! :D

  • i got guillan barre syndrom 2011 sucked :/ but im gettin better now

  • I really, really admire you.

  • You are an amazing human being Justine.

  • Justine, stay the strong, beautiful, downright badass you are. I had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis as a kid and, while it's not MS, I can totally relate to the frustration and the pain. You are an amazing soul and we are all with you every step of the way!

  • have fun tonight... you deserve it :)

  • Tell your parents they did a good job. You are a extraordinary human being.

  • BEST BLOG EVER HANDS DOWN BY U

  • You are an inspiration. Thank you for having courage enough to share this. Happy new year jpmetz!

  • I hope that everything turns around this upcoming year. You're beautiful Justine, and very strong.

  • I feel like such a jerk for complaining at length about my sour calf muscle! But it's really sore.

    Glad you're feeling better!

  • You're awesome. (:

  • That shit must have been really scary, it's pretty freakin inspiring that you deal with that and are positive about it now. I'm straight for Justine.

  • We are always here for you ^_^ Glad your able to share with everyone♥

  • Hey JP. My mum had MS and I really do hope you the best for your health.. Stay strong, you have all of us behind you. I know that doesn't really mean much, but really. You're in my thoughts. X

  • I always knew you were strong, but I never knew HOW strong. Seeing this video just makes me really appreciate you even more. You're beautiful, and I love your courage.

    P.S. Your hair looks fantastic!
