Hammasa was actually born in Uzbekistan but her parents were from Afghanistan of Tajik ethnicity but she lives in the UK and I've seen her around! One thing she has in common with Iranians is that she speaks Parsi (Farsi, Persian) so she can call herself of Iranic origin but not Iranian as those countries were part of the Persian empire. I think only those born in Iran or have Iranian parents should be able to be called Iranian and no-one else, the rest can, if they wish call themselves Iranic.

yes, there is a saying that a lion born in a stable does not make it a horse etc but if you hold a particular citizenship you can call yourself by the nationality of that country regardless of your ethnicity. i was born in UK so always British and nothing else, doesn't matter what ethnicity my parents are! and yes your mother has to be screwed by someone to produce you, but we all hope it was only by ur father. :)

Hammasa was actually born in Uzbekistan but her parents were from Afghanistan of Tajik ethnicity but she lives in the UK and I've seen her around! One thing she has in common with Iranians is that she speaks Parsi (Farsi, Persian) so she can call herself of Iranic origin but not Iranian as those countries were part of the Persian empire. I think only those born in Iran or have Iranian parents should be able to be called Iranian and no-one else, the rest can, if they wish call themselves Iranic.

you are right, when we speak farsi at home, its different than how we speak at schools or tv as well.. but the claim that because we are sunni and iran is shia or because today we are called afghans, and iranians.. and people of tajikistan are tajiks.. it doesnt mean we are different people.. its just we live in diff countires with diff names. our culture, our language, our religion is still one. if afghanistan has pashtuns, iran has kurds and azeri's, tajikistan has russians, turkmens etc.

tajiks are not originally iranians. iranians are people from iran. Tajiks lived in afghanistan for thousands of years. They are afghans, they dont even mention theyre persian or iranian. The fact is that afghans are proud of their race and we say were "Afghan". But iranians always say "im persian" that gets people confused.
