@N617A haha indeed, NQY used to have one of the widest in the country. But now the airport is civilian, they reduced the width.

Brilliant Video! I live under the flight path, so this was of particular interest to me. Have flown in and out of Newquay a couple of times, but it was very overcast both times, in fact first landing was aborted for a go around due to the weather. Glad that the airport has now been taken over from the MOD and saved.

In terms of reverse thrust, the pilots have used "Reverse Idle" on this landing, where the reverse thrust doors open but no reverse thrust is used. This reduces noise disturbance and engine wear, but allows immediate use of full reverse thrust if required. If "Full Reverse" had been used on this landing you would definately be able to hear it!

Yeah, both airlines ad their own personal touch with certain words... I've worked for both so recognise some words. A Qantas PA is very unique in that the crew will say, 'If you can reach your phones, you may use them', even while the plane is moving.... anyway!

Interesting video of the flight to Newquay.

Your video began flying over Fowey Cornwall.

Was not sure until I checked with Google Earth. Recognised Par and the China Clay operations there. From Cornwall 45 years ago.

it's not the RAF's fault for Mothballing it- you can blame the Labour government for consistently reducing the UK's defence budget.

They rely on our forces more and more whilst cutting their funding.

They say they are helping out through the recession yet they have delayed the new aircraft carriers, reduced equipment orders and stripped many places of military units- you could solve the unemployment crisis tomorrow if all labours defence cuts were reversed.

Thank you very much for sharing. Cornwall is a very, very lovely, colorful and nice British countryside. Allready in 2007 I,ve made my holiday there. This BA Shuttle A319 looks to be brandnew. I,d like the male cabin PA voice after landing. It,s good to hear a male cabin voice. Instead of the usual female cabin announcements. How long was your flight from Gatwick to Newquay? 30 minutes??

Thanks for the comment. The flight was around 35 mins, quite a short flight if you think about how long driving or taking the train takes. This certain aircraft was the first A319 for BA and about 10 years old.

Me too, I'd like to see a male flight attendant often. Last eayr, i flew with thomas cook from stansted to dalaman in the winter season, and both flights had NO male flight attendant. I was surprised about that, I'd expect to at least seen only one male flight attendant.
