The reason Mexico City is the biggest city in Latin America is because of a boundary set wide as it is endlessly spread out with block after block of small edifices, not because it is the most developed; sort of like Los Angeles but better, it's more elegant. Yet, any city in Brazil is more developed and even Buenos Aires is prettier and more impressive architecturally. The worst is Bogota, "big" but with a bleak downtown of only 5 buildings and the rest is endless blocks of crap (been there).

I've been to Mexico city on business....it has its nice areas and not so nice areas. Overall I was treated well and the Polanco district has a multitude of excellent restaurants. It's like any other big city.

The reason Mexico City is the biggest city in Latin America is because of a boundary set wide as it is endlessly spread out with block after block of small edifices, not because it is the most developed; sort of like Los Angeles but better, it's more elegant. Yet, any city in Brazil is more developed and even Buenos Aires is prettier and more impressive architecturally. The worst is Bogota, "big" but with a bleak downtown of only 5 buildings and the rest is endless blocks of crap (been there).
