hey people i have a vid on my channel bout my favourite 747s can you please go and view it because i am new to youtube and trying to get as many view as possible also i would appricate it if yu commented rated nd subscribed cheers :D
Gosh, this brings back memories! I'm 16 and in July my mum took me to florida (we're from england) and it's always been a childhood dream to swim with dolphins at discovery cove Orlando. And this was my first ever flight and I just remember seeing our Virgin Atlantic plane and remember how my first flight with Virgin felt. It actually does make me emotional. Wow what a fantastic holiday it was and what a great airline!
I love the fact that Richard Branson beleives in Great Britain, and flys the flag on his aircraft! The design at the front of the aircraft remind me of the Memphis Belle from World War 2.A stroke of pure GENIUS,Richard!Thankyou.
Yes sure it is.. Virgin Atlantic is pretty new livery paint job.. I think I like both ethier it didnt matter.. ;-) NIce to see both Landing and Takeoff.. It cool..
Rotation is the term given when the nose of the aircraft lifts up and the aircraft appears to rotate around its main landing gear. The aircraft would always rotate (to some degree) before all of its wheels are fully off the ground.
@Twinman2 Every time the pilot pulls back on the yolk the elevators pitch up. This creates a pressure difference between the top and bottom surfaces of the tail wings. Greater pressure on the top surface vs. lower pressure on the bottom surface pushes the tail of the aircraft down, which pitches the nose up. The same pressure difference between the top and bottom surfaces of the main wings provide the aircraft with more lift.
@Twinman2 We require a downward force to be generated on the vertical stabilisers. What we have here is a simple level system, a downward rotation on one side of the fulcrum (the landing gear) will produce an upward rotation on the otherside of the fulcrum. The tail rotates down and the nose rotates (pitches) up. In order to generate the required downwards force on the vertical stabiliser, the elevators needs rotate upwards to disrupt the airstream such that it its tangent is perpendicular...
I've been to that viewing area in MAN!!!! Its pretty awesome! Me and my family always go there the evening before our flight and stay overnight in the raddison sas :D when we went the last few times It was the wrong time of day to see transatlantic flights come in :(
I flew on Barbarella from Las Vegas to Gatwick in 2007!! I've been to Man twice to watch planes but not to the viewing park - I go to the site across from "The Airport" pub and stand on a mound which gives great views, then walk along the country lanes to the second runway when that one starts been used.
I don't know what it is but at the moment the 747 always an impressive aircraft in my opinion looks even better than ever. Could it be they are enjoying being 40 years old!
Barbareela looks wonderful in the bright sunshine. 5*s
i like the painting on the cockpit excellent video, watching all these aircraft vids makes me wanna get in one, it must be much better to watch it in person!!!!!
Nice. Theres 2 things on top of my list when i arrive in manchester in 2 weeks time. number 1 go to the Man United vs Arsenal game and number 2 Go spend half a day at the Airport, because from what ive seen of Simon Lowe's vids your airport over there has some bloody awsome veiwing areas of heavy aircraft ;-)
Off to Orlando she goes.

Well am very glad that I live near LAX because you have a less crowded plane spotting locations . Look here in Manchester it's packed to the roof.

I don't get how the plane rotates before lift-off... it seems like the elevators are pitched up! *confused*
