Does any1 know how to turn on the advanced effects? I've installed the Compiz Fusion settings manager, and the options are there, but changing them does nothing. Is there someplace I have to select to turn on Advanced Effects? I've gotten Compiz to work in most other distros, including regular ubuntu, linux mint, etc. Can any1 help me?
make sure you have everything up to date and add everything compiz from the repository. except for the stuff that dont do anything like the apps that use compiz... for example emerald or that dock thing. if that dont work... then ubuntu forms help out a lot.
It will run better if you install it than run it from live cd. But for that such low ram I would advise trying other distro like puppy linux, It also support flash but has less memory usage than Xubuntu
would xubuntu 8.04.1 run on a computer with only 191MB of ram? and if it dose then would i have to run it on the cd or could i just install it and would it just run on its own? and would it run good or ok?
i would never use ubuntu as my primary system, mostly because i would much rather use windows or mac, but i would deffiently duel boot this, it would be fun to play around with :)
U would be surprised at what u can don w/Ubuntu. I run Ubuntu as my primary OS and I don't hav any probs. Whatever Windows apps I need to use I run in a virtual machine using VirtualBox in seemless mode.
Do think it will run slow on my pentium 3, 126mb ram, 80gb computer? I downloading ubuntu but it was slow as hell. I got puppy linux to run good but it had some bugs. How do i save xbuntu to hard drive btw? Get back at me plz (:
